i don't see this as cheating.
you still have to get close to see the hummer.
you cant just walk into cave and scan from the entrance.
you have to run through the cave.
you still have to fight anything fight-able.
it just take some of the drudgery away and saves time.

How about some help for a noobie?

This is my first attempt on modifying the client and I must say I have no idea what to do.

So I download the option where it only will change the loots look to a car but the walls will remain.

Got a file called cave_helper_hummer.zip

It contains an art directory with some files.

My question is, what to do with it?

First i wanted to merge to my fonline directory but I didn't found any art dir.

Am I doing something wrong? Do I need something to apply this mod?

Thanks for the help in advance.

check the first page

it says the following

Usage: copy the zip file to data folder and edit DataFiles.cfg file.

data\faction.zip
data\reloaded001.zip
data\cave_helper.zip

and in your case you add
data\cave_helper_hummer.zip

Some guy already helped me ingame

but, thank you too for trying to help me aswell : )

Another question I have.
Since it changes a lot of stuffs to hummer, (like shelves too, some npc cant be seen from them) I started to delete some of the files one by one. I was looking for the ones that aren't items but boxes, shelves etc.

The problem is, not all files got name I can recognize.

Do anyone has a version of this, where it only shows items on the grounds and not storages too?

Or it would be enough too if someone could say, which files match for the following stuffs:

Workbench, Advanced workbench, floor safe, refridgerator.

Thanks in advance!

so I guess your problem is doing something else with this mod activated?
I wouldnt recommend it, deactivate it when not cave searching. Just rename the zip file a bit, when you dont need it. (and restart game)

There are other mods that highlight items and footlockers around here you can have activated the whole time if you want.

You, sir, are amazing! Been using this since the beginning of my FOnline experience and it has helped me so damn many times. Noticed lately that some items didn't trigger the HAMMERTIME mode so I came back and saw this is still being updated - much wub!

On a side note, if you'd like to quickly switch between normal and cave helper version of Reloaded, you can do the following:
1) place your cave_helper.zip in the game's Data folder,
2) in the same Data folder, create two text files, name one NORMAL.txt and the other CAVE.txt (these are only examples, feel free to call them however you like),
3) open the CAVE.txt and paste in the following lines:
ren 1cave_helper.zip cave_helper.zip
start D:\PATCH_TO_FONLINE_Reloaded\FOnlin~1\FOnline.exe
4) change the "PATCH_TO_FONLINE_Reloaded" to whatever the location of your game is (if you're wondering, the ~1 is caused by DOS short file names limit, that's what it looks like in DOS when your game's folder is called "FOnline Reloaded", if it's different, you may need to adjust this),
5) save the file and close it,
6) openthe NORMAL.txt and paste in the following lines:
ren cave_helper.zip 1cave_helper.zip
start D:\PATCH_TO_FONLINE_Reloaded\FOnlin~1\FOnline.exe
7) the 2nd line should be exactly the same as in the first file,
8) save the file,
9) change the extensions of both files to .bat
10) create shortcuts to the .bat files on your desktop

Voila! Fast and easy switching between normal and cave farm mode!

Once again, thanks gauvaran!

I dont mind the walls or roof but the item highlighter has always been barely useful for me, especially in cave farming (it may be ok for an everyday use though) where often things are hidden between the rocks. You can't miss the HAMMER :D

Thats because the updater wipes the "DataFiles.cfg" file - you just need to open it and add the following line:

data\cave_helper.zip

The same with caves.
I dont miss anything in cave when using Item highlighter when walls are turned off.

thanks for the update gauvaran.
i haven't played for awhile and while cave farming noticed some things were not "humvee'ed".
when i want to turn off the mod i just add an ";" to the start of the line in the config file for the cave mod.
and then delete the ";" when i want to cave hunt.
ahhhh.
the good old days of good old DOS.
