General Game Discussion / A question about Big Guns.

I searched the forum for different builds and I read that for a sniper build. If you have 300% small guns, you can use a sniper rifle just fine with a strength of 1, even though a sniper rifle requires a strength of 5 to use it without trouble.

So my question(s) are: Is this still true? And does this also apply to other builds such as a guy who uses Big Guns and or Energy weapons? So if I have a Strength of 1, and 300% big guns, can I use BG without any downsides?

I am not too sure how factions work but from my understanding you have to invite a person and they have to accept and then they are added to the base computer and it can only be done one at a time. The person joining has to cut ties with any other faction they are already in right?

What if it was possible for one faction to “patch over” another faction? A larger faction asks the leader of another faction if they want to merge factions.  If the other faction leader agrees his whole faction becomes one with the other faction. Maybe there could be some kind of “Do you agree?” Prompt for each individual in the faction that is being patched over.

If they don’t agree they say “No” then they are cut from both factions.

This might be something to help smaller factions that establish their own bases and such and want to keep them but have a hard time getting new members. Instead of abandoning all their work and either leaving the game or breaking up their faction. They could just accept the joining of a larger faction or another small faction but still be able to keep all their stuff.

It could open the door to chapters. As in the smaller faction can keep their name and the members could keep their ranks and so on… but the larger factions name is placed in front of their name. So it would be like “Large Faction: small faction.” Or the smaller faction can then change their name but still have the new factions name placed before it. The leader of the Chapter would have control of whatever base they had and such but no control over the larger factions base, unless the leader of the larger faction Okays it.

Of course there is some risk that some members being patched over might not mesh well with the larger faction but that is just a risk in life right? Gangs and such do it all the time. Can always remove them later on.

There could be options such as a total takeover of another faction whereas the smaller faction gives up control of their base(s) and ranks, and the chapter idea. If it is a total takeover the name of the faction being taken over should once again be up for grabs in the list of names.

“Does Leader of Faction B agree to merge with Faction A” and if that leader says yes then the two factions merge.

Well anyways it’s just an idea that was stuck in my head for a while, any thoughts on this? Does it even make sense?

What about a critical fail causing an explosion equal or greater than being hit by a rocket, more so if you have a high explosive rocket?

Water travel is possible here - only needs someone to add the little PT Boat as a vehicle.

If there is a boat and a means to buy it. I am all for that.

NPC taxi service sounds good. He shows up in Hub or NCR or various places and yells "Taxi!" and a short departure timer starts. By tagging him you enable dialogue. You choose from a list of standard destinations and pay him up front. He's on a short timer there (to take more passengers) and then departs. You follow him and BAM you're already in his Highwayman (so you cannot steal it) but if you paid. No pay, he kicks you out. He goes to those places and you get dropped off (kicked out of party). If your destination is some weird zone, you choose a destination in that direction and jump out when you get close.

No insta-travel though. This is not Star Track lol.

To be fair "Star Track" travel is in Fallout. Fallout 3 and New Vegas and I am guessing Fallout 4. I am not sure if the community here gives two shits about those games, but if they don't I can understand the objection to it.

NPC taxi would be interesting but you still couldn't go to the islands using it.

Talking about the idea of "Fast Travel" what about having an NPC we can go and pay X amount of caps so we can teleport to any location using zones/coordinates?

So the guy will ask you where you want to go, using the "say" feature you put in the zone/coordinates. Example: 30:39 : 1513 1965. He will then ask are you sure? He won't let you travel to a location that is water.

Could have it so the further you want to travel the more it will cost.

The location could be the crashed shuttle from Fallout 2. Or just some scientist guy with a lot of machines around him, maybe in Gecko. It could also make for a good money sink.

+1 but raiders and slavers should not be possible to enslave.

I think that is where the ball gag could come into play. Place it on a captured slave and they can't tell anyone who they are. I guess the Slaver Tattoo on their forehead would be a problem. Could make it so you can enslave a slaver, but you can't sell them. After all I get attacked by slavers while being a slaver myself.

Something else I was thinking about to be able to enslave other people such as Brotherhood members. If concussed is added to the game (Effect: "Your character has received a blow to the head. This effects skills and Intelligence.") people who would fight back if taken as a slave such as Brotherhood would no longer know who they are because they become to stupid.

Or make a use for the psychic nullifier, make it so it would make people who other wise can't be enslaved, passive and therefore you can enslave them.

Forgive my ignorance if this is already possible but if it isn't... How about having it so our level is displayed like our health, weapons and faction affiliation. Anyways: "Good Idea?" "Bad Idea?" "Already Possible you F-ing Idiot!!!"

Not to go off topic but it is somewhat related, how about using pashtshuur spikes alone or with radscorpion tails to make any blade a poison blade?

No real use until poison will be buffed or changed somehow. For now poison do nothing...I had many times 100% poison and? Nothing...

Being that poisoned while under attack is a serious problem because you lose a lot of health at a fast rate. But yeah I can see that poison knives for player combat would be pointless, after all you don't bring a knife to a gun fight. Does silent death work with knives? Silent Death and Between the gaps = Instant Death. Or is that to powerful?

It seems to me since a Super Sledge is superior to a normal Sledgehammer when it comes to combat... shouldn't also be superior when it comes to mining? We need it to mine Gold and I assume Uranium.

So I figure that a Super Sledge should produce more mineral and iron ore when used to mine. At least double the amount than a normal Sledgehammer. At least when it comes to normal ore but I would suggest it should work for HQ ore. Gold and possibly Uranium would stay the same amount.

I was thinking that there could be possible mining bonuses when you craft alongside combat bonuses.

Also so I don't have to make another thread. How about making a hatchet at weapon as well as a tool?

Does this perk help against bear traps? If not that could be something to make it worth taking.

But as to being able to carry more weight, it makes sense to have it with this perk. "Lift with your legs not your back."
