Closed suggestions / A small change to Military Base.
« on: October 04, 2015, 04:33:47 am »
Aside from the issue of it being broken IMO (see Bug Repot) I have an idea for it.

If the idea for the map is for factions to do this encounter as a team... Why not add a fire pit area in which the player that encountered it can use to create a map to the location so s/he can give out the map to faction members?

Could still have the requirement of having to use the three logs. That dead guy could have set up a tent with a fire place and we can use the three logs and it will be just like a tent base.

Closed bugs / Military Base Encounter
« on: October 03, 2015, 09:29:45 pm »
The Robots in the Military Base Encounter do not go back to their original starting points upon player death. I see this as a bug because my character died right outside of the elevator by two of the heavily armed sentry bots and for the last hour or so I have been trying to get back in only to be killed open leaving the elevator (spawning into the 2nd level). The robots are just standing their waiting and kill me before I can't do anything about it.

Other quests, such as the one to kill the super mutants for the Gun Runners. The super mutants will walk back to their starting points when I am killed and or leave the area.

Suggestions / Bursting/Targeting
« on: September 25, 2015, 01:00:03 am »
If I have my weapon set to burst, why is that after reloading I have to cycle back to set it to burst? Reload, single shot, target and then back to burst. How about just having it so we can set it on burst and have it go right back to burst after reloading? (if there is a way to already do that please forgive my ignorance).

As for targeting. I believe Fallout Tactics has this feature. Being able to select a part of the body to target once and every shot you take will be for that part. Even when you target another person. It has been a year or so since I played Tactics but I think you have to select parts again if you say go from shooting a human to a mole rat or something. I pretty much just aim for the eyes 95% of the time anyways. So why not just have a way to select eyes once and be done with it? Would still cost extra AP to use.

If for whatever reason that makes things too easy. Could have being able to select it once as part of a trait or something, like finesse. Maybe some new support perk that requires really high small guns. "Marksmen." "You learned to instinctively aim for the same target with every shot."

Closed suggestions / Lighter Use.
« on: September 23, 2015, 10:31:22 pm »
A simple suggestion IMO. I know we can use camp fires to burn things. But how about also including lighters for when we aren't in a tent? Have a lighter in your inventory and use science on something like a map that is also in your inventory to destroy it?

I would also suggest being able to burn things in the oil drum fires that are all over the place.

General Game Discussion / A question about Big Guns.
« on: September 20, 2015, 11:47:24 pm »
I searched the forum for different builds and I read that for a sniper build. If you have 300% small guns, you can use a sniper rifle just fine with a strength of 1, even though a sniper rifle requires a strength of 5 to use it without trouble.

So my question(s) are: Is this still true? And does this also apply to other builds such as a guy who uses Big Guns and or Energy weapons? So if I have a Strength of 1, and 300% big guns, can I use BG without any downsides?

Suggestions / Patching Over other factions.
« on: September 18, 2015, 02:42:27 am »
I am not too sure how factions work but from my understanding you have to invite a person and they have to accept and then they are added to the base computer and it can only be done one at a time. The person joining has to cut ties with any other faction they are already in right?

What if it was possible for one faction to “patch over” another faction? A larger faction asks the leader of another faction if they want to merge factions.  If the other faction leader agrees his whole faction becomes one with the other faction. Maybe there could be some kind of “Do you agree?” Prompt for each individual in the faction that is being patched over.

If they don’t agree they say “No” then they are cut from both factions.

This might be something to help smaller factions that establish their own bases and such and want to keep them but have a hard time getting new members. Instead of abandoning all their work and either leaving the game or breaking up their faction. They could just accept the joining of a larger faction or another small faction but still be able to keep all their stuff.

It could open the door to chapters. As in the smaller faction can keep their name and the members could keep their ranks and so on… but the larger factions name is placed in front of their name. So it would be like “Large Faction: small faction.” Or the smaller faction can then change their name but still have the new factions name placed before it. The leader of the Chapter would have control of whatever base they had and such but no control over the larger factions base, unless the leader of the larger faction Okays it.

Of course there is some risk that some members being patched over might not mesh well with the larger faction but that is just a risk in life right? Gangs and such do it all the time. Can always remove them later on.

There could be options such as a total takeover of another faction whereas the smaller faction gives up control of their base(s) and ranks, and the chapter idea. If it is a total takeover the name of the faction being taken over should once again be up for grabs in the list of names.

“Does Leader of Faction B agree to merge with Faction A” and if that leader says yes then the two factions merge.

Well anyways it’s just an idea that was stuck in my head for a while, any thoughts on this? Does it even make sense?

Closed suggestions / Level Display
« on: September 04, 2015, 11:37:54 pm »
Forgive my ignorance if this is already possible but if it isn't... How about having it so our level is displayed like our health, weapons and faction affiliation. Anyways: "Good Idea?" "Bad Idea?" "Already Possible you F-ing Idiot!!!"

Suggestions / Mining with a Super Sledge.
« on: August 16, 2015, 09:44:22 pm »
It seems to me since a Super Sledge is superior to a normal Sledgehammer when it comes to combat... shouldn't also be superior when it comes to mining? We need it to mine Gold and I assume Uranium.

So I figure that a Super Sledge should produce more mineral and iron ore when used to mine. At least double the amount than a normal Sledgehammer. At least when it comes to normal ore but I would suggest it should work for HQ ore. Gold and possibly Uranium would stay the same amount.

I was thinking that there could be possible mining bonuses when you craft alongside combat bonuses.

Also so I don't have to make another thread. How about making a hatchet at weapon as well as a tool?

Suggestions / Stills
« on: August 08, 2015, 12:28:02 am »
When it comes to making Gut Rot, we can only make 10 at a time. Why not have an option to make large amounts at a time? As in if you want to make 100 for example, you get a prompted to place 100 wood and 200 fruit into the still. A "make all" option would just be that you place whatever amount of wood and fruit you have into the still before you use science. And if for whatever reason this is considered "too easy" there could still be a wait option that calculates the amount of wood and fruit in the still. The more you are making the longer you wait.

Another idea, a support perk that allows you to get a bonus amount of rot gut from stills. "Moonshiner" where you come across Whiskey Bob, you talk to him (or do that quest of his) and he will tell you the secret of how to be a great moonshiner. And thus you get "Moonshiner" support perk which gives you say three of four rut guts for every 1 wood and 2 fruits.

Closed suggestions / Optometrists
« on: July 25, 2015, 03:32:42 am »
I figure with all the doctors around and eye charts, at least one of them would have some knowledge of optometry. So if you have low perception, why not include the option to take an eye test and buy spectacles? Could have a mini quest, as in you need to give the doc something other than caps or in addition to caps, a doctor’s bag or something.

Closed bugs / Junktown Guards
« on: May 11, 2015, 09:31:56 pm »
The guards of Junktown tell players they can't enter the town, even though it is now safe to go into the town at all times of the day. They don't attack or anything like that but I can see it being confusing to new players.

Closed suggestions / Sleeping
« on: May 10, 2015, 08:23:50 pm »
I know this is a live game and all. But what if clicking on the bed (in our base/tent/hotel) gave us an option to "sleep" and there would be a list of times for how long you want to sleep for like how we have the "wait option" in the single player Fallouts. So clicking say five hours, your character will be inactive for five in game hours. When the time is up you will be rested, well rested and so on. Like the drug counter there will be a time for how "rested" you are and it could come with higher perception and agility.

But if you change your mind, have a "wake option." If it is possible the death animations could be used for our character lying down on the bed. With "Zzzzzz" dialogues or something while we sleep.

For all beds in all bases that would be interesting in my option. You can be signed off when you are sleeping but come back a couple of days later in real time it would have no effect. Other players would see you as "sleeping" or "logged off sleeping."

I am not suggesting we need to sleep and so on. “What next we need to take a shit!” type thing, just that it would be like taking a drug.

General Game Discussion / Forced Encounters With Other Players.
« on: May 06, 2015, 09:49:20 pm »
Not that this is a complaint. More of a question. Players being forced into encounters with other players wasn't a thing before the wipe right? It was removed as a feature? I played a lot of Reloaded and had little to no encounters with other players and I was never forced into an encounter with other players. Maybe I just had really good luck. But now I am forced into encounters all the time with other players. It is pretty annoying.

Anyway was it a feature that always existed or was it brought back after the wipe? If so why? I find it annoying.

Suggestions / Trophies and event idea.
« on: April 07, 2015, 02:17:49 am »
There is a trophy model already made ==> http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Trophy_of_recognition

My idea is that trophies could be given out at player events, such as events at Hinkley. The Player who gets the most kills and so on.

One of the grander ideas is to have a special event where all the factions compete to control a town. Whichever faction holds it the longest over say a 24 or 48 hour period wins the Grand Trophy! I am guessing it wouldn't take much to have the factions name placed out it as in "you see a trophy won by (faction name here) and as time goes on more names are added. The trophy could be put in a busy place such as the Hub for people to look at, made so it can't be taken. This might encourage people to create and join factions and the idea of all the faction trying to take and hold a town all at once every couple of months or so is interesting.

At such an event I think it would be cool to have a spectator mode. In which players could watch but can't participate. Restricted to an area so people can't use spectator mode to cheat, scout out other players.
