Subforums for factions.
« on: August 29, 2015, 09:12:33 am »
Yo!
I have an idea to make subforums for FO:R's factions at main forum.
Faction subforum:
- can have administrators which are faction member, setted by forum administrators,
- isn't moderate by forum administrators,
- can't be visible for non faction members,
- is visible for forum users which are setted by subforum's administrators,

How to get it:
1. Make faction. (If you have your faction already proceed to the next step.)
2. If you are the leader of this faction (or one of them) ask forum administrator for faction subforum.

Why subforums here?
Not everyone can be at the same time in the game, TeamSpeak, etc. Not everyone also have or don't want to have FB accounts to use faction group pages. But most of players have accounts here, at this forum and they are gathering here anyway. It can be easier way to arrange group actions, organize the groups, etc.

While it sounds nice, i'm going to -1 the idea.

Why? This just means more effort for administrators, while there are many and many free solutions out there.

eg:
You could make a steam group
You could make your own (free) forum
You could make an IRC channel
You could make a skype group

Handle your own faction management, and let devs, administrators etc handle more important things.

But when you have subforum you dont't have to install other clients and create additional accounts.

You do have to create an account, one to browse this forum.
If you have clanmates who have issues with installing a client to allow basic forms of communication, you really should wonder if they are suitable to be in your group.

If you wish to work with other people, do some effort on your part.

So let's repeat for those who don't want to read suggestion to the end.

Goose, this is suggestion about place for posts only, not ingame communicator.

For sure this etc = irc, skype, steam and everything else what you think about. Ofcourse you can make another forum even for free but it's better to login in one place than.

No. Subforum for everyone (not gonna happen) or for none.
It was on fo2, no one used the feature, because teamspeak/mumble/facebook/everything else was better.

Well, the last thing I need is additional work with babysitting some factions and their forums. It's enough that I babysit some teamspeak users.
