Can't buy base

Earl in Junktown won't seem to sell me a base.  I've got 30k caps, I'm lvl 38, but when I talk to him all I can say is "Nothing.  I'm out of here."  Am I missing something?  I don't really want to go to an unguarded town with 30k.

I'm going to go ahead and recommend you to not buy a base like that. Visit NCR and buy a DIY base instead, you can choose it's location.

You have to be the faction leader, and you have to have a second character with you.
Log in as XYZ and go to a construction foreman, log out.
Log back in as ABC. Go to the same foreman. Tag XYZ. Log out, log back in as XYZ. Buy a diy base.
Assuming you did all that already; this is the guy in Junktown? Cave bases aren't worth it, BUT....... buy him a beer. Chat him up a bit. Then you can buy the cave.
Honestly, an abandoned bunker is worth 5 times as much..... even if they cost ten times.

Nothing changed. You could always buy a base or faction alone (at least on Reloaded).

I try to buy a DIY base in shady sands but at a moment he said "what is it you people are calling yourselves"  and i only can answer "nevermind"....


Why i have this? i had 10k on me, i try to give him the 10k with say but dont work, and i dont was alone because i was leader of a group with two people next to me...

You need to pick a name from the names available for use
~freefactionnames
~ffn
Lists free Faction Names in the chat frame.

use either of those in game chat and you will get a list of 1200+ or so names to pick from or you can request a name addition from Kilgore in the factions area on the forums (there is a thread for it)

You pick the name from the list of available names when buying your first base, you use the say feature and type out the name chosen.
