Creating a party

Hi all,
Me and my brother just started playing the game. I had the impression we would be able to team up/form a party.
Is this possible? How?
At most we can follow the other into the wasteland, who then is told a stranger is following.

1. Get folded tent.
2. You are leader, ask your brother to follow you.
3. Go to random place on worldmap, enter.
4. Be sure that your brother has tagged you, and then "Use" to folded tent.
5. Now you have tent, basically newbies party base!

If you like it larger, get used to other players and keep talking with others.
Maybe you would gain more players...

You can also create a tent solo, then upgrade the firepit with 3 wood. Click campfire to get options, rename the tent, then create a map to it. Share map with other characters and they can see it. Be careful sharing tents though, and be careful where you leave those maps (or throw them into fire to destroy them). 10 tents per character means you and your brother, with only 1 character each, can have 20 safe places on whole map, shared. Add new characters? They can read those same maps too so you won't have to start over.

It's also a good idea to have a char with 100% outdoorsman. They can get Ranger (support perk) from that crazy bitch in Gordon's gas station for gratis. All tents build by a char with this perk will be safehouses, complete with a fireplace, cupboard, chest and crafting workbench.

Not true, if there is anyone on the map except your NPC followers, it will say that you cannot make the tent because there are critters. The only way to share a tent is to use 3 firewood and create a map. It would be a good idea to either store the map in the tent or burn it in the fire after using it, as countless people have lost their stuff due to "misplaced" maps. Another thing to remember is that despite how many people know the location(Which cannot be forgotten unless the tent is packed up), only the person who made it can interact. Others can only put stuff in the fire.
Another way of teaming up would be to create a faction, but that is for later(10000 caps + materials or 30000 caps for the cheapest base). By that time you will maybe know how factions work :)
