I've got a feeling that same dumbasses that exploit friendly fire would be the first ones to whine on forum if we changed things to the previous state (guards attacking and killing everyone making friendly fire). That's why some people can't have nice things.

Instead of attacking as soon as damaged, could the caravan guards hostility rate be set to respond after say 3 attacks on friendlies? That way a couple of accidental bursts or misclicks in one caravan wont end it for you (unless you misclick and kill) but repeatedly attacking friendlies on the same run will get you shot by the guards.

Either that or give the caravan driver and guards a faction, so people who wipe out caravans have to pay to restore their reputation or will be shot by the guards and driver upon entering another caravan.

Is it pvp if no players are present? Taking this scenario for example...... if the second player wasn't there, would he be cheating to be dual logged?

I suppose yes, as you can't dual log for turn based
