Animal hunting chat
« on: May 06, 2015, 03:39:35 pm »
Hi!

I have an idea about hunting animals in general! Some of you may love to hunt for pelts and some of you just for the fun... I know about the pain to hunt your prey when you looking for encounters that you wana farm alone or in groups...and you rarely get what you looking for!
I got this idea while reading about the scout thingi that was mentioned in one of the updates recently. Anyway my idea is about if you are looking for a generic animal and the more you hunt down will be benefitial in the future cos you will eventualy have the skill where to look for them.
I was thinking about a Perk that you can get maybe after killing 100-1000 of that specific creature and you would get more of that animal in the encounter than usualy it would be. like normaly you would get 1-4 you would get 3-5 /3-6 ect. And ofc to not be anoyed by this skill if you are not on the hunt maybe there would be a switch to turn it off and on..

Maybe eventualy you would get like a mini special encounters(not as rare as the ones we have already) with caves that have huge packs of thes animals no loot ofc just the animals you looking for and their pelts.
I know there is/was a system waht was caled predator or wtf i can't remember but that was only in RT and was eventualy a survival game not a hunting game.

Maybe this would encorage more hunting more actions in encounter dunno.. I hope people will like the idea or maybe they will think its bullcrap dunno.
Let's see what others think about!

I still prefer a "Find" feature........
But anything that makes it a little easier is helpful.

after killing 100-1000 of that specific creature and you would get more of that animal in the encounter than usually it would be

So if you are on tile for example 33:33 and there are 6 possible encounters with different monsters. Would that mean that you would run from each encounter that has monsters that you don't want to kill so you don't get increased chance?
Because if you kill different mobs  and you get 100-1000+ kills and they all increase in % of encounter than you are at beginning. So you would need to run from other mobs and just kill 1 type of mob so this could work :)

Well as we have a kill counter right now it could be more usefull if there would be a button that you could switch on/off after you got this achivable or learnable trait/perk... and then if you wana hunt brahmins then you just switch the button and in the encounters where you would normaly finde brahmins you will get more brahmins in that encounter than normaly you would... ofc the other enemys would not change in the enco...
While  in the other hand there sould be a limitation about like you could not switch up multiple targets so you could not make swarms in the encounters and ofc if you looking for a specific animal then you probably wont have the the resorces to search for multiple animal type...
Its like you are dedicating your self to hunt for foxes in the forrest then you will not bother with deers and bears... you are looking for foxes and you probably looking for fox tracks and eventualy you will finde them. its like normaly in hunting sessions you looking for ducks then you wont shoot on swans

Too complicated, I think more easier for players as for devs would be some kind of quest. Something like give him/her 1k caps, 10 beers or 100 shotgun shells and he/her give you a map to for example cave where silver or golden geckos lives. Trappers would give such a "jobs". You pay, you play and take many at once. Same with Brahmins, for example...bring me Cattle Prod which help me with brahmins, and I'll give you location of abandoned ranch/farm where bandtis killed ranchers. Or Wanamigos, whatever. You need to kill those critters and take some random number of Brahmin Hides from chests in that place. This kind of things will be easier to understand for players, and far more easier to implement for devs. Everybody wins  ;D

well this is also an idea but this wont encourage players to go more out in the open world i mean the "Random" encounter is God!

I can not say you are wrong. It would be great feature, I really admit it.
The thing is it would be hard to introduce to new players, and I think hard as fuck to implemented. Question is, how to do it to make it clear and easy in using...

Find button;
On world map, hit the "Find" button and you'll skip over any unforced encos that don't have that critter/item/situation automatically.

oh and by the way the fun part in this that you do not need alt for this... anyway Matt your idea also good but a fixed encounter that comes from npc just like the tanker will make the quest un-encounterable and that would make the whole deal pve only.. but what is fonline if not PVP and PVE at the same time?

You can still get friends with you, but yeah...it would be better, even if I hate PvP in RT...and as we know more than 60% players play RT  :D

Anyway, Find button...it's not so simple to be honest, you need say what you want to find and shit. I don't know...oh, maybe in that mode you find more critters than normal. Say x2 or x4 4-6 geckos? Some kind of multiplier effect. Unfortunatelly I have no idea how to make it and implement.

Exactly thats what i was talking about... it would just multiply the ammount you would finde in that enco... it wont realy harm the economy in any way i think and its not like you can abuse anthing with that.. the PVP would be not harmed in any way cos thes is only affected the critters ofc thes won't work on some enemys like mutants and humanoids.
About implementing it well yeah i have no idea about how to do it... im just suggesting an idea and who knows maybe later it will or will not be implemented..

Huh?
Yep i know i'm more of a pvp player but that does not mean that i do not like features that makes more options to go out of your tent and doo something!
Like i like granades and shit and its awesome when 10 or more animal just blows up from a granade or a rocket...
I hope this makes sense for you...
Anyway i do not have time to play so enjoy the game without me!

+1 at least i agree with the basic idea of boosting chance to find the one thing you hunt most, if that's what you mean. If i misunderstand this idea, sorry.

What about "Scout-Boy" though. Doesn't that help a bit?
