Vault 15 gear recovery

Slightly confused.
I went to vault 15 and saw piles of equipment on the floor. Mostly low level stuff like healing powders and junk parts.
I went a bit deeper, got murdered big time as I was only checking it out with crap gear, but when I respawned it was lost.
That of course is normal, but as I left the spawn tent, I encountered a Brotherhood of Steel patrol and my gear was still on me.
I had lost all the crap I gathered off the floor, but my CA and CA helmet, along with 1000 .45 rounds and my grease gun were still with me.

I know that's a bit long winded, but that's my point. All the stuff I had on me before I entered the vault was somehow given back to me after I encountered a brotherhood patrol, but the stuff I had found inside the vault was missing.

You should always lose all items, when your character dies. Maybe some new feature on testing or a rare bug that I've never seen or heard before.

Probably some one looted it after a whomever kill the slags. sometimes, blue suits enter v15 when it's cleared out.
I know I loot the crap because it annoys me. (OCD)

No, my point is after I died, I lost all my gear, as happens.
I left the respawn tent, still no gear.
When moving from the tent to my base, I encountered a BoS patrol, and when I did, my character was standing there with all the gear I had taken into vault 15.

Not short term memory loss.
I am not complaining, or saying I am happy it had happened.
I seem to have encountered a one in a million bug and thought I'd mention it incase there is something that caused it that people could exploit. 
That's all.

Screenshots or it didn't happen. I'd be willing to bet that

A. You were drunk.
B. You just happened to forget that you picked up more gear.
C. You just made that shullbit up for shock value and/or post count.

So unless you can prove otherwise, I'll go with one of those three. The game just doesn't work like that

Gah. I am not trying to spook people or make shit up for post counts or whatever.
If you don't believe me then fine, just ignore it.
Next time something weird happens I won't bother to report it, no matter how weird it may be.
