I usually trade blueprints for drugs, seems to be working out well enough.  If OP has a lockpicker, he probably has more junk BP's than he can use...

What I usually tell people to do is knock out two birds with one stone. Mine, then craft tons of 10mm jhp. Trade the ammo for drugs or caps or whatever. With maxed barter you can get 5 caps a bullet.
