Server migration
« on: June 12, 2014, 08:26:01 pm »
Migration status:

- Reloaded game server, Updater, VTDB site - have been migrated to the new machine, DNS refresh can take up to 24 hours so in case you can't connect to them, you should change "play.fonline-reloaded.net" address to new IP address: 91.121.18.168,
- Teamspeak Server (Public and all private virtual servers) - new IP address: 91.121.18.168
- Reloaded website, forum and wiki - will not be migrated, should work all the time.

Why is this change?
- To cut server costs from ~40 euros per month to ~18 euros per month.

Where is the new server located?
- Same datacenter as current server.

How does it affect performance?
- It won't affect performance at all, at least from player's perspective. Current machine is working fine, and the new one is slightly faster.

Progress will be announced in this post, so make sure to check it first if you can't connect to the game or Teamspeak server.

Update:
Teamspeak 3 Server has been moved to the new machine. New IP address: 91.121.18.168. All private virtual servers and permissions are same as before.

And that's why I'm doing it before wipe, though I don't think we'll have any problems, of course there will be some people confused by not working server status checker or where they should connect, as always :P

Teamspeak 3 Server has been moved to the new machine.

New IP:
91.121.18.168

Make sure to change where you're connecting to.

Btw: I will be available for some time on every virtual server and irc in case you have any issues.

Game server and updater online.

New IP: 91.121.18.168

Run FOConfig.exe and change:

Btw server checker will show OFF status despite it being online, for some time.

Lovely. My ping is staying under 100 and I am downloading a game and watching book of eli whilst playing. Nice one.
That was pretty fast, too.

With my ping from 300-800 I can kill you and your faction and eat popcorn in the same time.

We can assume the migration was successful, you can now forget the IP and just use: play.fonline-reloaded.net address again to connect.
