Crack in a wall
« on: May 04, 2014, 09:45:44 pm »
This is something I was thinking about for a long time:

I think that there should be some strategic purpose for C4 or Dynamite, other than just blowing up other players.
So I think there should be something like "cracked walls". Cracked wall is a piece of wall that can be blown up only with c4/dynamite, and it would open new entrance to a building.

Here's example (placing of the cracked walls is totally random):

So if your team has C4, it can use it in strategic way, to get to a building with another way.
There could be ALOT of places where such "crack" can be put and make the thing more interesting [broken hills FLC or Gecko Reactors for example].

After some time the blown up wall would respawn (maybe with a help of an NPC, similar to Grave Keeper.

+1 like it. Probalby we will never have destoryable enviroment in fonline but blowing cracked walls and maybe doors is close enough :D

NPC repair is good idea. Maybe also players can repair it for XP with for example 10 rocks + sandbag and using repair skill?

So? It's completely different idea.
you were saying that explosives have no use.
not that you're wrong. This time.

People will just make other tactics (good ones, dsk :D), so you are not sniper-trapped in a Redding FLC.

The crack in sheriff wall is useless - you can just blow the doors. The FLC-wall-crack is kind of a good spot for it, but I would rather add one in a zig-zag (so that team can blow it and run when outnumbered bringing preasure on enemy to rush OR be flanked). Anyways, I think it's a good idea if a crack really makes a difference for at-the-moment playstyle.

+1 if places are well thought

I like this idea. It's almost as good ad my idea of jumping through window to building but probably more fonline like :D

I like it. Reminds me of Jagged Alliance 2.

Gonna improve pvp quite nicely as long as you don't go overboard and place just a handfull of them in a few strategic spots.

However, I'd suggest that the chance of blowing them up successfully should depend on your traps skill.
It would be neat to have dedicated demolition expert builds but without level cap that could be pretty much everyone.

I think any wall within the Control Zone should be blow-up-able. Just leave a few scraps of wall to duck and hide behind. This we be such an improvement to the PvP action.

Walls are scenery objects - that means that they aren't dynamic.

Would be a forgotten feature anyway. For example, who destroys doors in PvP? I've seen a lot of actions where the attacking teams didn't blow up the doors but kept opening/closing them or whatever, even when C4 is cheap as fuck.
