Craftable armors recipe rework
« on: January 04, 2014, 12:49:14 pm »
To craft low tier armors the recipes require too much materials. Leather Jacket and Helmet have decent requirements but the fun starts when you want something higher. Let's see the prime culprits:

Combat Leather Jacket
5x Gecko Pelt
2x Golden Gecko Pelt
1x Fibers
1x Leather Jacket

Combat Leather Helmet
1x Gecko Pelt
1x Golden Gecko Pelt
1x Fibers
1x Leather Jacket

From these I would propose removing the Gecko Pelt requirement altogether. You already used the Gecko Pelts to make the Leather Jackets. Next in order is the Leather Armor and Helmet MK2s:

Leather Armor Mark II
1x Leather Armor
2x Golden Gecko Pelt
1x Brahmin Hide

Leather Armor Helmet Mark II
1x Junk
1x Golden Gecko Pelt
1x Leather Helmet

Golden Gecko Pelts should be removed altogether from these recipes since you use them to craft the regular Leather Armors.

I would lower these requirements even more, but lets see first what the community says (just see how simple the Combat Armor and Helmet recipes are, it's pointless to craft anything else).

Good that someone took this as discussion, I have few things to share.

And I agree with drot about CLJ and LAMKII.

Fixes for some other recipes

- Needler Pistol and 14mm Pistol, both should be either craftable with normal or HQ workbench.

- Magneto Laser Pistol, I think recipe should be -> Laser Pistol + Magnetic Field Targeting System.

- Power Fist and Ripper, both should be either craftable with normal or HQ workbench.

- Sawed-Off Shotgun. You just chop few inches off the barrel, I think recipe should be -> Shotgun + Workbench, because it includes all tools for crafting.

- M60. Should be craftable only with HQ workbench, because there are many other guns that should be normal workbench craftable then.

- Super Sledge, should be craftable only with HQ workbench.

I would also make combat armor harder to craft.

Combat armor: 4 hq alloys, 2 good metal parts, 2 fire gecko pelts, 1 fiber
Combat helmet: 2 hq alloys, 1 good metal part, 1 fire gecko pelt, 1 fiber

Or re-introduce Kevlar / High Quality Fibers instead of fire gecko pelts.

i agree with first post, it doesnt make sense, CAs which are higher tier are easier to craft then low tier armors..

too late, some players got thousands of CAs ..  ;)

So now that i have 10000 combat armors i can sell em for more caps ?  :)

Yeah crafting armors will get some rework.
