Things from other fallout series that can be transfer to fonline
« on: December 18, 2013, 06:17:32 pm »
Lets think what can be easly move to FO :)

Some guns from Fallout Tactics -  Images from FT are available. It will be easy to put them in to Fonline and balance the dmg

Environmental suit (FT) – suit with radiation resistance. It will be problem with graphics...

EPA (F2 cc) – dungeon [posted by jacky]

Fire Ants (F3) – ant with fire gecko attack

Incinerator, Heavy Incinerator (FNV) – [posted by plazmafried]  flamer with bigger range. Might required new graphics for shot :( {something like plasma shot but red or fireball cut from baldurs gate or something like that}

Machete (FNV) – close combat weapon with increased limbs dmg

Empty bottle (F3, FNV) - new component to make nuka cola, beer and other drinks [edit: already in the game]

Broken bottle (FT) – bar fight weapon with can be crafted (without workbench) from empty bottle [edit: fists are much better...]

Gaz Mask (FVB) – unfinished item in VB. Need image :/ headgear with radiation resistance and if mustard gas granades posted by jacky will be in FO it might save lifes :)

Books (F3) - item to collect, [Edit: i dont mean regular skills books like Dean electronics] (mayby it might give random skill +1%)

Abbey (F2 cc) – location connected with some quests like collecting books. Mayby Town Control? More books and blueprints in the TC lockers

Any other ideas?

I like Fire Ants idea, they could also use "Fire Breath" attack like Fire Gecko but weak version of it.
EPA dungeon, yeah I remember that. It works out too.

Biggest problem with these are the graphics :(

EPA --- make maps and scripts.

This is very hard map to make and it isn't so easy to convert f2 maps to fo maps.

Empty bottle (F3, FNV) - new component to make nuka cola, beer and other drinks
Ive seen some empty bottles before, you can't use them though

I was doing stuff that lead to other stuff and here's how env. suit would look with Fallout tactics animations

from what i can gather is that we need to find someone dedicated to making, or finding(do we care about copyright?) suitable graphics for new items and gear.

How about importing all the mines from Fallout Tactics and making blueprints for them.

Again the tank I think would be great. Blueprints to make the shells for it and if possible get the .50 cal machine gun to work. To use the cannon and the gun it would require two people.

I imagine whole NCR covered with mines... every single hex...
No. Just no.

No. Just no.

That can be prevented by having the act of placing a mine in a place such as NCR being a hostile act and the town guards will attack you for it.

It could also require skill to place them without having them blow up on you.

There always will be some crazy bitch (or group of them) that won't be stopped by getting killed by guards over and over.
They can carry no items but 1 mine and make a couple of runs.

What about northen towns where there are no guards at all?
Controlling faction can mine whole location.

It could also require skill to place them without having them blow up on you.
Skill isn't a restriction since there are no cap in skill points now.
Demolition Expert says that you have no unwanted explosions and requires only 125% in Traps.

I don't think it would be as bad as every single square having a mine. All you would have to do is shoot one and it would destroy all the others in a chain reaction. You would have to space them out to stop that.

But yeah a group could flood an unguarded town with minds or place them in areas players will spawn when they enter the town. If you make it so anyone even the person setting it can be blown up by it. It would be just as hazardous to the people trying to flood the place with mine.. so it would be counter productive. But yeah it would be annoying if people tried that.

I try to avoid the unguarded towns because 8 out of 10 times when I do go into one I get killed by another player, so adding mine to the mix wouldn't bother me on that front.

So yeah I can see it would have it's downsides.

You can do that even now :D
With frag mines, it is just about how many you find them from footlockers or from shops.

What about radio towers? So you could broadcast across all radio channels? We could have our very own player made 3-dogs out there <3

ShOw.
