Fiber plants?

I know this is a total newbie question, but I can't seem to find fiber plants anywhere. I checked the wiki and it says "just find them".
As I'm still kinda new, I've been wandering around NCR and up to Reno, staying out of the city areas, but have had no luck so far.
I hate to be a massive pain and ask about such a simple item, I won't make a habit of running here every time I get slightly stumped but I've spent 2 hours in random areas and not found a single one.

Mostly, you find them on around rocky areas. When there is mountains, you mostly find fruits and fibers.

They are kinda hard to find.
Look in mountain areas.

Be sure to bring a knife.

They look like brownish corn stalks.

I think there are also some in towns.
You could try the Hub, but I'm not sure.

Ah. That explains it then, 'cause I've been looking in flat-land areas and open plains.

There is one source of fibers in Klamath. It's in the south part where geckos hang around, but you can easily get killed there so don't bring any good stuff with you. I heard there is also a fiber plant in Hub, but I didin't check it. Other than that - mountains or disassembling leather jackets.

I admit that fiber was the hardes thing to get before i bought base.

You get a lot of them by dismanteling leather armor that you cannot sell to trader.
