99% of the complaints about loot drop are bitchy faggot whiners.
Then there’s the 1%.
Briging back full loot drop is of course a mistake; People aren’t quitting about that, they’re quitting about crafting BS, but brining SOME loot drop back is appropriate.

Ok, so: TWO inventory boxes.
One is your open inventory; The stuff that can be looted. Your current armor and weapons would be open inventory, along with any ammo you’ve “broken out” to use them. Everything in open inventory is gone at death.
The second is your CLOSED inventory: The stuff that can’t be looted.
The Open inventory should be MUCH larger (75% of total capability?), and closed inventory harder to access (6 AP’s versus 3 for normal inventory), but still, what’s in the closed inventory would be protected.
BTW, this is EXACTLY how NPC’s already work; They have their open (lootable) inventory and their closed (unlootable) inventory, and since WE can’t loot all of THEIR inventory, it seems only right we should get some of that consideration.
And get rid of that stupid XP loss bullshit; No other game in history has XP loss, espically for BS deaths (how it could possibly happen that the queen deathclaw “just happens” to get EVERY SINGLE SHOT randomly to the eyes EACH TIME YOU’VE HEALED THEM, even when you’re wearing armor that has built-in eye protection just randomly, is that it’s bullshit).
