General Game Discussion / Re: Where can i find Combat armor blueprint ?
« on: October 09, 2013, 02:17:55 am »
Much better to get a tough laser spammer up to Lockpick 150 and go locker hunting to find one. I found my first 12 blueprints in lockers and then surprise - i found a combat armor blueprint. A friend of mine started locker hunting and found a CA bp on his first try. While you are looking for it, you will be finding many other cool itemz.

What permadeath feature?

Welcome to the best game ever. Glad you're so happy to be here. Don't get traumatized when you realize you're a victim to the unnecessarily brutal play styles of some here. Grab a fresh gun and keep fighting!

Closed suggestions / Radios: Default settings

When we find radios in lockers, they always are set to transmit only, and not receive. That is backwards. Suggestion is to reverse that.

Game Help / Re: Tips for a Pistols and Sniper Rifle only build?

If you're asking how best to level up on your first character, some of us do the easy quests first, then start hunting the lesser critters (like Mantis, rats of all types, dogs, geckos, cows etc) when your gun skill is over 100. If you hunt with gun skill too low, you'll suffer more misfires. Low Luck also does this.

Some guys shovel poo at level 1 because you can actually get to level 2 that way and get some caps. Move boxes too. At Hub get the Wasteland Band quest and find Joseph for the Sad Wife. At Vault City do the Medical Investigation for the doctor to uncover the train station locations. At Shady Sands guard the cows for Mr Westin, return Mira's Debt, and run smokes to Buster.

At level 2, start watching the map for a new spot to get the tent quest. Kill rats and get free tent. Consider getting Outdoorsman skill up to 100 so when you build a tent, it's a Safe House instead complete with its own workbench.

This is the map.
For cows, hunt 2-5 zones SE of Vault City, or anywhere under Hub.
For geckos, hunt all around Klamath, or 2-5 zones west of Hub.
For tons of xp from rats, large area NE of NCR, or NW of Vault 13.
Run around and get as many support perks as you can.

Stay away from zones with city ruins if you can, especially near SF, and avoid Necropolis and Gecko.
Also you have to understand that any unguarded town is a player-kill zone where other players kill you on sight no questions asked.

Hey have fun. Chat in IRC: connect to forestnet.org and /join #Reloaded

I wish combat knives could be made special like that, but yeah if it stacks, then it is always a standard item. So same thing with sledgehammers.

I find those in 4 places: just west of Hub, just east of Vault City, around Klamath, and certain zones between Modoc and Vault City.

The base-buyer himself should have access to the terminal, but...

Was this a construction site first? If so, the terminal settings get reset once it turns into a finished base. So it sounds to me like you're using one of the other characters involved. Use the base-buyer character.

Yes you can have hot keys for aimed shots; you have to set them in the FO2238Config.exe tool in your game directory on the Bindings tab.

You write really well. I enjoyed reading this, even though it was a not-so-happy ending.

He is probably a Jinxed build, which causes such critical failures all around him. I'm not into such things, but if I was the type to troll players like that, I guess it would be a Jinxed build.

And locker must be empty to turn (Repair) or pick up (Science).

Oh wow, you hunt lockers in TB mode? That sounds so slow man. I invite you to step up, switch to RT mode and hunt like 5 times faster. Also use a tough char and look forward to meeting other people while hunting lockers. Some are cool and you make a friend. Some are mean and they soon learn who not to mess with anymore, but only if you use a tough hunter.

Free advice. You're welcome!

Do you know you get perks up to level 24? Also, what perk did you plan to get at 21? I ask because if you can get that perk at level 18, then delay getting Bonus HtH Attacks until level 24, y'know?

Spiritwind, I'm in USA too so if you want to start a new faction, count me in. I like to craft stuff and I am level 43, still on my lead character so far but I will start a few fighters when I find a source for better gear. Then I want to get better at fighting so I can handle some PvP. Until then I am making things, selling stuff, saving caps, piling basic gear, and exploring the map.
