Game Help / Fonline on Mac
« on: December 01, 2014, 09:42:54 pm »
Does anyone have experience in making Fonline work on a mac laptop?
I personally don't have any experience with wineskin, but maybe someone out there has had success in using it for Fonline?

Off-topic discussions / f2p Magicka Wizard Wars anyone?
« on: July 09, 2014, 09:14:20 am »
Recently started playing this game. It's free to play and you can find it on Steam.
Just thought I'd post it here, as it has a skill based combat system and it's purely PvP.

Hope to see some fonline players there :P

What is the meaning of this?

1. > "Connecting to server."
2. > "Connection established, authentication..."
3. > "Hexes for spawning are in use, try to enter the game a little bit later."

What if you're both? good and bad
What if I don't belive in good or evil?

Indeed. “What is done out of Love is beyond Good and Evil”.
Some people love to help. Some people love to disturb. Some people love to construct. Some people love to break down. Some people love to nurture. Some people love to kill.

It is what it is. Just try and enjoy the many facets of this game and find one or a few you love to do. Alternate and combine as you please ;)
Any game attracts all sorts of players, but not all games actually allow people this much freedom. It's not about the quantity of predetermined game content. It's about the quality of your freedom of choice.

Game Help / Re: how do you use the repair skill to repair items
« on: November 29, 2013, 08:18:55 am »
Equip a tool in your main hand, then with hold Left click on an item in your inventory, select the skills icon (the face), then click repair.

Even if you're successful, the max condition of your weapon will decrease. Read the wiki link for more detail
http://www.fonline-reloaded.net/wiki/index.php?title=Repair

You don't actually need a tool in your hand, but it does help (as it gives a bonus to your repair skill; super tool kit gives an even bigger bonus).
If the repairing goes "perfectly", the item you repaired will not lose maximum condition %.

When you're using a tool, it will have a chance to break while using it. When you're repairing a vehicle, you will need a tool in your hand.

Lets say I have Chem Reliant and I take jet.

Can I still remove the addiction effect of jet by taking the jet antidote?

Enclave patrols seem to carry a lot of them.

Why wouldn't I want to be found? I'm playing an online game. I like the interaction.
Well, didn't look like you liked such interaction just now :D

I wonder why you would think that...

The reason I made this topic was because of the reaction of the person I killed. It confused me and made me think I might have had the etiquette of lockpicking by the wrong end of the stick. I am now satisfied I did the right thing. And yes, it's a very lame human need of mine to need assurance of that. I need to have peace of mind with every kill I make.

Please stop making presumptions and just deal with the information there is.

Point? I don't quite get point of killing player who was faster and lockpick footlocker to get valuables.

This is what I mean when I mention "expectations and repercussions". And definately "ethics" of both parties involved.

You just think of searching footlockers in public places and nobody will find you?
Try some, not so used urban areas. I did, I was able to be whole weekend without see players there.

Why wouldn't I want to be found? I'm playing an online game. I like the interaction.

Worth of stuff that is mostly inside footlocker isn't enough for killing some player, not atleast for me.

It was just 1 footlocker, you find them pretty many if you spend more than few hours : D

I didn't once mention the value of anything. Like Sperber, you're missing the point.

It's about expectations, repercussions and ethics. And that's what makes Fonline so great.

Good to read the reactions. I wasn't sure what etiquete there was with chests, as I'm new to lockpicking. But as with most things in the wasteland it seems that: "If you find it, it's yours. Unless you can't defend it."

So, what did you kill him for? 10 caps, a rubber doll and a ball gag?

You're missing the point Sperber, but thanks for your input.

I stop to explain and we became friends, fell in love, got married and now have 3 kids.

Erm... You've got skills man. 300% speech, 10 charisma and 10 luck :D

If you're a Fonline player who kills anything that moves, you can stop reading here.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd just like to present the following situation that occured today:

I'm hunting for lockers and enter an encounter with a chest in it, kill everything and then end combat.
Next thing that happens is a caravan run drops into my encounter with a player.

Me, being generally unbiased in the meeting of new people say: "hi", where he responds with "hi".

Next thing I know, the guy runs down to the locker. I presume to know what he's up to and say: "nononono", but it's too late. Seconds later the locker is open and he loots it.
Within seconds, the caravan will leave the map, so I make a quick decision and kill the guy and his caravan.

I tell him it's because it was bad manners of him to do what he did, but he doesn't agree. He says I'm the one with bad manners...

Now tell me, what would you have done in my place?

Game Help / Re: Lvl 24 perk choice (can I keep it around?)
« on: November 20, 2013, 05:08:52 pm »
Aiming for eyes, head and groin is +2 action points (compared to non-aimed shots)
Aiming for arms, legs and torso is +1 action points (compared to non-aimed shots)

You can "save" your perk until lvl 30 (so effectively lvl 29 I guess)

Fast shot applies to Bozar, as you said, but also LSW (Light Support Weapon) which now has a single shot mode.

Flamers are single shot in the sense that they use 1 piece of ammo per shot. Burst is in fact incorrect, but you can reason that it can hit multiple enemies.

Closed suggestions / Re: Fast Shot change
« on: November 18, 2013, 11:07:52 pm »
Histrionics aside, Fast Shot giving -2 AP was fine before Turbo Plasma Rifle and -AP weapon bonuses. It was max 7 shots a turn, and it was still effective without being OP. It was that way for a long time, and I don't recall anyone ever complaining about it one way or the other.

If it gets capped at 2 AP per shot with 2-handed weapons, I'd like to see "Spray and Pray" returned :)
Although that would probably bring back bitching about crit bursters... Unless it can be made so it would affect single shots only. You could argue that this is material for a suggestion of it's own, but it's linked to fast shot. If fast shot stays the way it is, "Spray and Pray" shouldn't make a come-back.
