The Thunderdome / Adieu, Reloaded
« on: August 21, 2017, 12:59:35 am »
The end is more beautiful than the beginning.

FOnline Reloaded has been an.... interesting experience. The difficult gameplay, the... curmudgeonly community, the constant intrigue and scheming - it's a hell of a ride, if someone has the time and patience. Time's a difficult commodity these days; working full-time and renovating a house has left me with nearly no free time a'tall.

So this is it: the part where I say goodbye. I will not be returning to Reloaded, nor to FOnline.

As a parting gift to the community, I leave you The Red Death Collection -  a cache of mods and the Guide I built for new players.

Thank you all.

And adieu.

Interface: Evil Ras

Evil Ras is a hybrid of Pure Evil and Ras Interface, with the Scout fix and Widescreen fixes. This package also includes Better Worldmap (found in /data/art/interface/wmbig/).

Download: https://github.com/tinoesroho/FOnline-Interface-Mod/releases/download/1.0/evil_ras.zip

Better Worldmap
Better Worldmap adds overlays to some areas of the maps to denote specific NPC faction spawns. Pretty simple in concept and execution.

More Visible Ores

Recolors ores to be more visible.

Last, but not least, the unfinished Guide project. With wipe so near, finishing it would be pointless.

The Thunderdome / The False I-Lashes
« on: July 07, 2017, 05:12:43 pm »
I has come to my attention that there is a false Lash impersonating me in the general Discord.

While I found some of the hijnks humorous in a juvenile way - the reactions it elicited from Khans, at the least, made me smile - I cannot condone such behavior.

This false Lash originally appeared as Wew Lad on Discord at some point. But they are also likely the posters on forum known as leaked and KHANSCENTRAL.COM. leaked has been stalking TKs-Mantis, at one point doxxing them on the Khan forum(!!!).

Image altered to protect Mantis identity

I'm posting this to alert the community to this unacceptable behavior.

(For the record: I've never been to Quebec in my life.)

Hey, what's going on?

Captain Gargantua: Civil War

The months-long inner conflict for control came to a tipping point after Khan faithful split into two bitterly-divided camps: Team Coach and Team Knuckle. In a bid to restore unity and a sense of old-timey shenanigans, Gargantua announced that the next General (reporting to Supreme Leader Gargantua and High Wizard Crikket) would be determined by a 5v5 led by the two khandidates.

Coach, a close friend of Gimper, has taken up Bison's mantle of proposing professionalized, focused faction leadership with the aim of producing superior PvP. Knuckle wants to maintain the status quo: a disorganized militia that focuses on general acts of dickery rather than PvP.

Lines got drawn, flames flared, and when Crikket threw support behind Knuckle....

This, on the heels of the Red Order being disbanded by the command of Gargantua, has left Khan morale in tatters. The past month and a half has seen several (relatively) skilled Khans get tossed. RIP Bastian.

Jeff Quits, UV Split

The annual UV self-immolation shakeup happened right on schedule, though this years' is the first that shook UV to its core since UV disbanded in 2015.

A number of UV players have left, including the Brazil-based Akira br13. But Jeff's departure was the most significant: Jeff /  Ras Makkonen was the core tank and trainer and when he left, he took Chopper and a few others with him.

Wipe Confirmed

Kilgore confirmed wipe in the announcement thread. For months, a handful of elite players from various games and developers have play-tested on Kilgore's private server.

According to one writer, Season 3 of Reloaded will include about 20 hours of single-player content and will be playable offline with friends. Sources we spoke to have told us that Season 3 represents a significant shift towards single-player and co-operative play as compared to the PvP-focused Season 2. Core game mechanics are on the chopping block.

Prepare to be astounded.

2017 August 31st.

Neighbourhood Rumors:
Total lies? Or the awful truth?

Seki has been spotted in the wastes, tagging along with Khanscript DonnieDarko. Seki had been in hiding after receiving perma-ban from FOnline2 for serially betraying factions and deleting shared characters.

Using the Shout-Push method (wherein you stand in place long enough to get shouted at, then have a pal use the alt-click push command) players have been shoving essential NPCs into corners, breaking pathing and quests.

The Thunderdome / A Letter To A Brother Gone
« on: May 13, 2017, 02:46:51 am »
You know who you are.

You were kind, fun-loving, adventurous, and a tad rebellious. You lit up the room wherever you went. Always, you tried your hardest.

I thought our friendship - forged in the fire of the wasteland - would last forever. I thought we were loyal to each other for who we are as people, for who we were as a team.

After all, six months as a team - that's almost an eternity.

But I was wrong. You were not my friend, merely a fighter under the same banner. And your loyalty was to a banner and not to your mates and mentor.

Faction Announcements / Red Death
« on: May 03, 2017, 02:58:58 pm »

A faction unlike any other. Red Death is a tight-knit, small faction consisting mostly of OGG veterans and their students. Red Death embodies the spirit of the Edmonton Uprising  - the Canadian underground resistance. With professionalism and whimsy, we seek to impose socialized health care upon the wastes.

Lore
Before the bombs fell, when USA forces annexed Canada, there was a resistance member feared for his sniping prowess. With an old Lee-Enfield, over the course of a month, he shot and killed 33 American soldiers near a farm during the Edmonton Uprising. Given the moniker Red Death because of the similarity to another sniper from another war (White Death of Finland). Local underground newspapers hailed him as a hero. When presses were seized, most of the newspaper copies were destroyed, though some soldiers smuggled it back home.

Long after the bombs fell, a small mercenary group came across a copy of one such newspaper. In an attempt to make a name for themselves, they adopted the name Red Death.

Today's Red Death are descendants of that mercenary band. But rather than selling their strength to serve others, they seek now to remake the world as it should be: with socialized healthcare and subsidized liquor.

Organization
Guardians
The guiding council of Red Death. Guardians serve the faction as mentors and protectors. Members are appointed to Guardians by the council. Current Head Guardian is Lash.

The Enlisted
The armed forces, the Enlisted comprises crafters, traders, and fighters. Enlisted ranks are as follows, from greatest to least: Sergeant Major, Sergeant, Master Corporal, Corporal, Private, and Enlistee. Each rank has clearly outlined requirements in order to progress.

Newb-friendly
We have guides, gear, and training plans for every newb who comes our way. Stride forth with confidence and rise in ranks with your skill and dedication, knowing that you have the full weight of us behind you.

The Thunderdome / LUCKY LEAGUE CHEATERS EXPOSED
« on: May 02, 2017, 09:16:26 pm »
https://youtu.be/KoB_EKNVuio

Even The Khans won't stoop so low as to dual-log to check caravan locations in hub to invade. Everybody knows you're supposed to park in the mountains below NCR! (Dumbasses)

This isn't the first time they've done this. They've done this a lot. It's time to show the (Un)Lucky League/Lieutanants the door. So long, fuckers.

Pictured: assault team in hub

technical details:
captured with oCam. Raw footage would take almost an hour to upload, so uploaded last four minutes of footage.

My working theory:
Murzik is Bacc. Lucky League never invade without Bacc in hub and Murzik leading their assault team.

The Thunderdome / Khans Engage In Vote-banning on Public TS
« on: March 30, 2017, 01:53:52 am »
Goddammit.

Little Khan-plainers have found a new tool to harass players with: complaining. Seriously. Want to get a player banned from public TS for twenty minutes? Grab six of your friends, right click your target, and choose Make a Complaint. Boom, auto-ban!

If you want to test this "feature" out, just join the public TS with a team and hit an idler like Seldanor. Or raid The Khans and hit 'em where it hurts: right in the member base.

Yeah, and if you didn't suck so much your team wouldn't be the weakest PvP faction ever, Sven. Shaking my damn head right now. Your team is so bad they had to beg Gimper for help.... and it still didn't save them.

ps: don't shitpost in faction recruiting threads

Off-topic discussions / WIP short story
« on: September 07, 2016, 01:59:28 pm »
"Welcome to Wilshire Hills, a bustling shopping paradise and tourist district in the capital city. It is current eleven-oh-eight, sunny, 24 degrees. We are arriving a little ahead of schedule. Please remain seated while we roll to the landing zone."

An ad blimp sailed through the skyscraper-laden cityscape. Radio traffic in the cabin chattered away with current weather information. Seated at the wheel, a black ponytailed man with short-trimmed sideburns in  a pinstriped silver suit. Behind him, using the handheld microphone, a young-looking blonde man in a short sleeve ragged green shirt and tan cut-off shorts  almost shouted into the microphone with an excited grin on his face.

"Thank you for choosing Hanzai-Sha Airships. Please remain seated and have a nice day."

The pilot's eyes scanned the HUD projected on the front windshield: air direction, engine stability, fuel, velocity, distance. His right eye twitched.
"Mr Kata, change of plans. Landing in the parking lot."

"Call me Hira, Mr Z." the blonde youth turned the microphone over in his hand. Then he brought it back towards his mouth.

"Alright, folks. Please buckle up; we're making an unexpected park in the tarmac terminal. Do not be alarmed, but be prepared for a bump."

Returning the handheld microphone to the slot on the wall, Hira Kata looked out the windshield and then turned for the door. Turning the doorknob, he opened the door, closing it behind him. It locked. Click.

"What's the reason for change of landing? We're going to need two people to carry that EMP Cannon, plus we'll have to deal with the guards while carrying that upstairs."

A taller, young man - also blonde - in a open black jacket, red sleeveless shirt, black jeans, and a gold necklace put his hand on Hira's shoulder."The kids stopped arguing when I told them to shut up, but they haven't stopped shoving each other. If we leave them with the cannon - assuming they don't drop it - that leaves me to carry and clear, Deadshot to secure the top, and you and Z in the control room. We're early and the guards are-"

Hira didn't waver. "Don't sweat it, Jimmy. We've got this. Don't forget about ground team."

The blimp had clearly been modified to have a larger "basket" - one with the open-air passenger area and pilot cabin. Harnessed into seats, a short brown-haired kid in orange shorts and basketball jersey glowered across at a scarred young man. Beside the scarred young man, a scruffy short-haired man listened to music via earbuds while checking the pistol's magazine. For the fourth time so far.

In the center of the basket, a heavy looking metal box with two handles sat, a briefcase taped to it.

The speaker in the corner crackled. "We are rapidly descending. Strap in."

Hira wasted no time, taking the seat next to the kid and strapping in. Jimmy followed suit, strapping in beside the bearded gunslinger, coldly watching the pistol.

"We'll start the rush and ground team will join in. Kidd, Ketsu - cannon to the basement."

"Aw. Why do I always have to-"

"Get stuck with him." The kid's complaint was cut off by the scarred youth's tired growl. "Because it's frickin' heavy and  the basement won't be as guarded, so we can go full ham."

Hira smiled nervously. Then the blimp landed. Hard.
---

The first to react was the bearded man, unstrapping himself and casually opening the basket's exit door. Already, the parking lot was attracting attention - one couple openly gaped and a lot attendant was sprinting in the direction. They'd landed on top of a sports car, knocking another car forward and blocking off an entire section. The lobby wasn't too far off.

Behind him, the rest of the team assembled, in various  states of wave change. Jimmy hadn't bothered to change at all. Kidd was decked out in the orange-padded, whiteish jumpsuit of his wave form, orange headband keeping his hair back. Massive sword strapped to his back, which he was sliding into his hands. Hira appeared dazed.

Ketsu - the scarred young man - crossed his wrists in front of him. Black and red plated armor - apparently connected by leather strips - formed around his chest, two long swords appearing on each side of his belt.

Trueshot ducked back into the basket, out of sight of the gawkers, activating his wave form. Light-gray material covered his body, then dark gray combat armor covered his chest, shoulders, thighs, and in sections , his legs and arms. Two pistols strapped at his side,  dual short barrel shotguns on his back, a rifle in a shoulder sling strapped to his back. Along his belt, pouches containing various ammo rubbed against the suit's material.

Hira stepped into the parking lot, a little wobbly on his feet. Tapping the hunter-vg holstered at his side, his wave form activated. A gray,  v like headband formed, with a yellow diamond in the middle. He slid his green goggles up, covering his eyes. Green armor, disconnected at joints, square in design formed above a black jumpsuit, bits of it peeking through the gaps in the armor. A yellow diamond formed in the center of his chest piece. He smiled. Then two identical Hiras stepped out from behind him, one with a gun-arm, and the other with a sword-arm.

"Heads up!"

Hira ducked, the other two Hiras following suit. A large sheet of metal flew above them, crashing into a parked utility van and setting off the alarm. "Holy exit strategy batman!"

From behind the flying projectile emerged Kidd and Ketsu, lugging the heavy metal box with one hand each. Trueshot exited through the hole next, and then Jimmy, who ripped the suitcase off the metal box as he passed.

Jimmy leaned towards the duo, his eyes narrowed. "Could you be more careful?"

"Yeah. Kidd." Ketsu rolled his eyes at his box-lugging partner.

"Next time, sure. But wasn't that awesome? Like a movie! Just bam!"

Hira started forward, shooting a remark over his shoulder. "Would have been better if I had seen it."

The lot attendant was on the pudgy side, sweating, still a-barreling down the lot. They ignored him and started for the lobby. Jimmy scanned the parking lot as they went, still in human form. No sign of ground team. Hira marched forward, the rest of the team behind him: Kidd, Ketsu, Jimmy, and Trueshot.

Nobody noticed the two thwip-thwips of two shots entering the attendant's head. And nobody heard the shots that dropped the gawkers. They just dropped from sight. Trueshot holstered his pistols as the lobby doors slid open.
