Closed suggestions / PvE content
« on: October 03, 2013, 05:12:02 pm »
First I'd like to say; this isn't a complaint about PvP. The server has a high focus on PvP and that aspect is enjoyable. PvE however, is severely lacking. The only PvE a character has is grinding 1-30.

Some of my favorite memories from TLA and 2238 were the PvE server events. Some were "be among the last 10 to survive wave after wave of enemy."
-These forced me to work together with players I'd been fighting the entire time.
-All grudges were momentarily dropped in the greater effort to SURVIVE

Another idea is a "heist" situation. In which say "BoS has recently made some technological breakthrough" or "You have heard about the location to BoS PA armory." A conceptual design would be a standard entrance with incredibly strong enemies that a player must "sneak" past. Another entrance could be lightly guarded, but only opens from the inside.
-Sneak character gets inside, avoids detection (enemy facing movements) and opens the door
-Players from faction enter and loot the vault, all while fighting BoS to escape
-could be a great way for a faction to obtain PA or HPA without the current mechanic of "get lucky"
                -or other rare loot

Dungeons have been talked about being improved. I have faith that these will eventually be finished. These are just some ideas that could help make the game more enjoyable between bouts of Town Control.

Toxic Caves / Re: Bg vs SG
« on: September 26, 2013, 02:56:49 pm »
1st-SG doesnt require as much strength as BG, so you can save that Special points and use it in other stat.
2nd-BRD isnt a must have if you are using SG, so you can choose other perks to boost your resistances.

If i wanted to deliver damage, i wouldnt make a SG burster, id go for BG. If i just wanted to be tanky, id probably tag SG.
Strength is a non factor because BG only require 7 strength while (p90 requires 4 but is not optimal) the xl70e requires 5. BG characters take 5 str and the weapon handling at level 3. This is the obvious choice because level 3 perks are trash.

The bonus ranged damage is included to the SG bursts to make sure that both weapons are held to the same standard. The damage would favor the BG even further if it was not included in the SG as well.

The only "Tankiness" that a bg character will lose out on is Adrenaline Rush (USELESS) and toughness (2 DT 5 DR) which is not enough to account for the SIGNIFICANT damage difference

Toxic Caves / Bg vs SG

Can anyone list some actual PvP benefits of using small guns over big guns at this point?

Negligible stuff like "carry weight" or "ease of crafting" need not apply.

Apart from sniping I really can't think of a single reason. I see you faggots lobbying for "Single shot or short burst LSW" so if that ever comes about, then SG won't even have sniping.

Give me some reasons NOT to delete my small guns characters, because that is the state of the game right now.

Closed suggestions / Reducing negative rep with town control
« on: September 20, 2013, 01:32:35 pm »
I'm pretty sure this isn't a mechanic already, but I think it would make sense that the longer your faction controls the town the more your rep in that town increases (until positive).

As it stands, the process for taking control of a town results in the towns folk taking a lot of collateral damage. Meaning one NPC gets shot, then the guards agro, then you've got to wipe the whole town because it attacks you.

This results in massive losses in rep. This could be fixed by gradually increasing rep for the faction members that hold the town (until positive rep is obtained). Maybe you could get a rep bonus with every militia that gets added.

If you are trying to take the town, kill a bunch of NPCs, then fail to take the town. Well then that's just you causing trouble in the town and you deserve the negative rep for it.

If this is already a mechanic, then I am sorry for wasting your time.

The Thunderdome / Shut the fuck up and stop whining
« on: September 14, 2013, 02:16:40 am »
Every fucking thing in this game has a suggestion about it. EVERYTHING. If you die to something, get the fuck over it and learn from it. The saying used to be "the wastelands are harsh." But you pussies want EVERYTHING nerfed or everything removed. This forum is for suggestions about potential new features or improvements to new ones. Not making this babbies first fallout experience.

When did this game attract the COD audience you pathetic fucks. Look at some of these threads:
"I should keep gear on death"
"Tents should have advanced workbench"
"Fighting in towns should be impossible"
"Every gun/build that has killed me should be removed or nerfed"

You should be ashamed of yourselves. This is the shit that ruined 2238, dipshits like you who have no idea what makes the game good. You're liable to drive Kilgore, a dev who is trying to make the game as good as possible, insane with your petty bullshit. Its survival of the fittest out here, and if you can't adapt to the newer parts of the game, then don't expect to do well. You aren't owed anything by anyone. The world isn't going to change for you and the paly style you want.

Suggestions / Companion/Merc outlines
« on: September 13, 2013, 03:27:05 am »
Was doing some town control today, and some of our players had companions. The companions have red outlines when behind buildings and running around, making it very difficult to identify them as friend or foe. It would be really useful if we could set our companion/merc outlines to that of our factions.

In TLA you could toggle this on and off and it was incredibly useful in nearly every facet of the game.

You guys serious?
Obvious bug is obvious deal with it.

No boost needed. Seriously guys get a grip on common sense.

Jesus Christ. You are potentially one of the dumbest individuals I have ever come across online. Literally every post you have is complete and utter stupidity. You fucking troglodyte, it is amazing that your brain even has the power to maintain vital functions.

The implementation of the code is a bug, not the existence of the code itself. I honestly wish you would die...

Toxic Caves / Repeat Previous Attack Button
« on: September 07, 2013, 08:18:50 am »
In TLA there was a hotkey (spacebar) that repeated your last attack. This made fighting in real time much easier. After TLA, I find myself playing in real time much more often and I miss the convenience of the repeat previous attack button.

Toxic Caves / An Appeal to Reason (repost)
« on: September 05, 2013, 04:50:08 pm »
Killgore you have already, with the creation of this server and the implementations of fixes, shown yourself to be a much more competent developer than the entire previous 2238 team.

That being said, there are a few huge issues that have come up and need to be fixed. Especially before the implementation of town control. I will begin explaining these issues in the next few segments:

1. Crafting XP:
Crafting an item should give XP only the first few times. Without this mechanic this happens:

Players craft sharpened poles for 24 with a macro for 24 hours and get level 24. Crafting doesn't need a cool down. Crafting lots of things isn't a problem, but getting thousands of XP in mere minutes from crafting the most basic item in the game is a clear problem.

2. "Rare" Cave Loot:
Caves for the first few days had an extremely high chance of having rare loot. The % of drops has been reduced but the damage is irreparably done. Players should not have inventory like this:
http://puu.sh/4jc1Y.jpg
within the first 48 hours of the server. The economy is skewed, the balance is broken; any player that missed out will never be able to compete against those who didn't.

As you will notice, those images and videos are of me and my friends. This is not a cry about us not having the things, or about others having an advantage. We are not egotistical enough to assume that we were the only ones to discover these problems. The FOnline community has shown time and time again its resilience and tenacity. If we discovered these things the rest assured; MANY OTHERS HAVE. You cannot simply hope that players won't take advantage of the system at hand, well, because that's not the type of community this is....

I want this server to be a success, and with it in the hands of devs that are players, that listen to players, I think it can be. So please Killgore for the game to ever have any longevity you need to WIPE THE SERVER and push the town control function back. We already have everything we could want, and others likely do too. There is not much reason to play anymore besides messing with others.

Thank you
