And the standard practice for MMORPGs is, you know, not losing all of your items?

Well this isn't standard now, is it?

I already stated that it's not about how easy it is to get new items. Even if there were crates at spawn that had a bunch of starter gear that was better than what I lost, I'd still rather keep what I would have lost than have to get new gear. See what I mean? It's for the same reason that people wouldn't like having their skills reset to what they were on character creation, because that's something that shows character progression. I'd like to see progression with my character's equipment, not just his skills.

No gear lasts forever, i bet you wanna remove detoration of equipment too?

Really, i and alot of other players happen to like the full-loot here. Its one thing that makes this unique.
So rather than trying to make this like Hello Kitty Online, you could:

-Get used to the way FOnline is.
-Leave, for this game may not be for you.
-Make your own server.
-Ignore us and continue as you are, attempting to turn the wasteland into something it isn't.

Take a look at Barter Ground.
No killing, no stealing, no blowing each other up with explosives.
Only trading.

I don't know the thoughts on it, but i'm sure there are a few that would prefer it did not exist.
In my opinion such features ruin the experience.

Wasteland is harsh.

I didn't say that it had to be a standard MMORPG, I was replying to someone who was using the fact that the game is an MMORPG as a reason of why the item loss should exist. Seriously, how hard is it for people to just read the whole comment before replying?

Okay, time to close down the suggestions section so we can all just get used to how FOnline is right?

I'm tired of people telling me to go to a different game, that makes no sense.

"Yeah, I know you dislike ONE FEATURE in this one of a kind game so you should just move on to a different one even though it doesn't exist."

And how would having the option of keeping TWO ITEMS make the game like "Hello Kitty Online"? That's the most ridiculous exaggeration I've ever heard.

And would you look at you, another guy who wants to decide that everyone should enjoy the same features as him. It ruins the experience for you (which makes no sense seeing as I'm suggesting it would be optional), so nobody should be allowed to do it?

The wasteland is harsh, and yet completely different from the wasteland in the games it's based off of? Give me a break. And if that's what you want, I would suggest you ask a dev to include deathban and skill loss on death as well, since the wasteland is just so harsh.

Obviously I'm wasting my time here, and I'm tired of having to repeat myself when people don't clearly read what I say. I'll be moving on now, all I wanted to do was try and suggest something before I left. It seems people almost take it as a personal insult that I would dare to suggest that players should get to choose if they want to lose all items on death given some of the reactions I've gotten so far.

Have fun with the game, guys.

It's a waste of time playing if you lose all your items when you (inevitably) die. What's the point in playing?
What's the point of living? We work whole our lives, gather money on our bank accounts and at the end of the road we all just die. Let's just do inevitable - let's just kill ourselves.

That's a nonsensical comparison. If when you died in real life, all your money, your job, and your possessions were gone and you had to start out on your own again then it would be valid. As it is, that doesn't make any sense. I die in real life and I'm incapable of missing anything that I had in life, the same cannot be said about a game forces you to waste time collecting gear over and over and over again, where life is a one shot. Besides, the point of a game is to escape from life. Not to emulate it as much as you can.

1. Include an optional mode for players to be able to keep all their weapons and armor, but nothing else on death. Maybe even just their equipped items, if that's too lenient. I currently am not interested in the game with the current item loss feature, but I would play constantly if it were updated to letting you keep weapons and armor. It's for the same reason that you let people keep their skills on death, I want to be able to progress my character's armor and weapons as well as skills. Please make this either an optional feature in the options menu or on character creation. There are tons of people who like the "permadeath" feature, so they'd choose it for themselves. I think you'd attract more players (myself included) to the game if you updated it. You could also have a separate server if that does not sound appealing to you.

2. If you do not want to implement number one, please at least list on the Wiki that all items are lost on Death under the "Death" page.

I don't expect number one to be implemented, but I want to love this game so I thought I would try seeing as this is the suggestions section. I would seriously be playing this constantly until I had run out of things to do if the item loss was changed in one of the ways I listed, and I think more players would be attracted to the game. I know a lot of people will want to say "If you don't like it, go to a different game". Well there is no other game like this, so I'm really hoping that things will change. Remember that the original Fallout games had no item loss (which is not what I'm suggesting, of course) and they're fun games, fans of those games may not be attracted to the item loss in this one. without the item loss, it would essentially be the Fallout multiplayer that EVERYONE can enjoy. The game could become extremely mainstream, I personally would advertise it to everyone I know who's interested in these types of games. Please consider my suggestion(s). If any devlopers are reading this, thank you for at least taking the time to read the whole thing. =)

Like I said, I want to love this game; but I really can't at the moment. I understand if you do not want to change the game in this way, I'm just really hoping that you do.

This is way too good to be true. I'm sorry but this is just way too good to be true. This has to be a joke. This game can't be real. It must be a joke, or something's wrong with it. A good Fallout MMORPG (unlike FOnline 2238)? Yeah, sure. Nope, sorry.

In case you guys didn't notice, I'm really excited to play this but I'm afraid it's too good to be true.
