Closed bugs / Re: [Dialog] Dangerous Dan McGrew

I've found them before. I think they might be because of certain characters being used?

The closer they'd get, the more dangerous they are. However, there is also the danger of being hit. Aim for the leg, and slow 'em down. Hack their arms and they couldn't hit you. Or burst or rapid fire and take 'em out. or knockback weapons.

They'd be ways to stop 'em. and if they got close enough to you, well, it's their advantage. They got past your defences, and they got into their advantage (E.g. sniper would be better further away from a burster).

But, Y'know, if it's too powerful tweak it a lot.

Actually, I used that for PvP, of course PvE would have to be taken into account, as well as people using Melee and bursts as well as changing stats.

What about a way to way to do VATS in melee and Overload causing you some damage, but has a higher crit. chance?

And maybe Melee taking up less AP.

E.g. Running towards an enemy, you can overload their arm (Crit. skill) and stop them from firing. Then their leg and stop them from running.

I haven't used much melee, I am really sorry if these suggestions are stupid.

Also, with the 50% chance to not hit when 1hex away, what about if:
5 hexes away - 15% chance for them to miss.
4 Hexes - 30%
3 Hexes - 45%
2 Hexes- 60%
1 Hex - 75%

After all, the only people who could really risk it that close would be bursters, and if they're gonna miss they might want to run away. Cripple the leg, and you have a severe battle going on.

Just a suggestion, I'm not very good with melee so if stupid, sorry.

EDIT: I didn't want to spam a new topic with so many melee suggestions going on, and as it's related to overload and a lot of your ideas would work extremely well anyway, I thought to place here. Just delete it if it's placed wrong.

What about new players as well as someone travelling after death and a bad encounter. It seems quite harsh against all.

I can play it on Fullscreen using Standard FOline launcher. Unfortunately, if I minimise I can't get back into it, as it won't display nor can I close it. I use ALT+Ctrl+Delete to close the window manually.

Not really adding to the bug, just saying from a different variable.

That's group? Damn, I've done in single all this time.

Thanks for the insight! I didn't realise that before.

Only 8 levels? I thought it was 11. That's pretty good then.

Ah okay, I meant more as a group quest starting in hub area but I see your point.
It would be kinda moochy.

Closed suggestions / Low Level Caravan quests.
« on: January 06, 2014, 05:35:58 pm »
I think Low level caravan quests would be quite useful. Saying there's a max level cap as well for it would be quite good.

This would let new people meet up with others and form a team or get friends early, rather than being alone and at that point, rather scared.
It also makes combat something new and able to do as well.

Maybe level 1-4 quests, very low level, ncr to Hub only.
Level 5-10, NCR to Hub, Hub to GR, NCR to VC. NCR to San Fran.

Of course, they'd be extremely lowered xp values and lowered caps. Maybe 1/10 for 1-4, and 1/4 - 5-10

If you're too high level, possibly saying "You're tougher than the guards to join up, so we can't accept you on this"

I'm open to anything I may of missed, or that would be exploited or changed.

Of course, this probably wouldn't affect most people on this forum, being higher-level or able to get friends/factions etc.

Just a suggestion for more new people to want to stay and join in.

Please, any criticism or comments or something I missed please add.

Thanks!

Suggestions / Brahmin Caravans - delivery runs.
« on: December 20, 2013, 10:14:29 pm »
This might be quite useless, as it was a spur of the moment thought.

What about a task for groups, where a Brahmin caravan is needed to make a delivery to a location. E.g. Transport weapons from the NCR to the Hub. Thus, the caravan is needed, but the weapons is just a box of weapons, and so cannot be opened by players.

During the movement, there are a lot more random encounters with raiders (Sorry if this is extra programming, I saw the cars see 95% of encounters, so this could be an extra option) or other low-level enemies for newer players.

Harder ones for higher-levels or can go more places (E.g. Brotherhood, San Fran) etc. The rewards could range from weapons to ammo, to caps and items (Maybe stimpacks). I don't think reputation should be upped as then people could use them to kill people in guarded towns with nor repercussions.

This might make more players rely on each other, e.g. PvE classes, a leader, a crafter for weapons and gear, and a medic?

It might get more new players to team-up and work together on something as well.

There could be a cool-down again to stop the people from constantly doing it to get the items etc.

But yeah, spur of the moment thing. Probably filled with issues and complications why it can't be used.

That'd be quite good, making it the 'safest' area in the wasteland. It doesn't have any real high quality materials nearby, except the Gun runners but you gotta get past the floaters for that...

Putting thieving on would be good, making sure people don't just hang out there.
I agree with your idea.

It'd only be a small change, like a piece of text on the main menu (E.g. register character screen) that highly advises first-time players to look at the Wiki and not worry about dying.

I know there is already a warning on the download, but sometimes people like to jump in and ignore that, then complain about death. If they got a reminder to look at something maybe they'd stay rather than quit and never return?
Maybe just a line saying about it.

And yeah, that's pretty much it. If this has already been suggested or done, I apologise. I check the first 5 pages of this, and found mostly game items (I can't get that far, I kinda suck at this game)
