Also, people are getting at the point that if you can craft them, you have a chance of getting bonuses on them.
Given the choice of being able to, say, farm standard flamers or build them myself with a chance to get bonus effects.. I'd take the time out to build them.

I really hate to be a pain in the arse but I have another question, and I have used the search function on this website and nothing has come up.
How do I open the console?
I Know I have to use the ~ key but when I press it, nothing happens. I've used it before on other games, and need to use in FOonline to see what faction names are taken etc.
Do I have to do anything specific or allow the use of the console or something like that?

Just thought I'd better ask before I commit: I know that, to make a faction base, your faction name has to be registered already (you talk to the DIY base guy, if it's not there he says he hasn't heard of you etc) but, is it safe to use any of the names that are listed on the wiki as available?
What I mean is, if I use a name, and sometime in the past, someone's used the same faction name, will they have access to the base I will construct as well as myself?
Obviously I'm not going to use any of the well known faction names on the list, but I have seen a few I wouldn't mind using.

EDIT- Bugger that. Just tested it, said the name was taken. Should have been obviously really.  :P

Ok, I re-packed it and I didn't get the error message anymore, but the UI isn't showing up, it's still the standard variant.
Do I have to remove the old UI somehow?
I know this comes easily to most people out there but the only other game I've ever modded is Fallout 3 so I am still really new to it.

I'll try the re-packing thing right now, but the link I got them from was from the thread in the game tools section, the second link down (not the first one which is an image link, the second one saying v.14 in green bold letters)
