Changelog 09/02/2014

- Stonewall perk now protects against knockdown from grenades, rocket explosions and shotgun bursts, chance to avoid knockdown is based on Strength, 10 ST gives roughly 95% chance, 9 ST - 80%, 8 ST - 60%, 7 ST - 40%, 6 ST - 20%,
- Turbo Plasma Rifle has now +10 crit roll,
- Shotguns can cause knockdowns up from 10 hexes (previously 7),
- Shotguns now have 10% per bullet chance to knockback (previously 20%)
- Decreased exp from ghouls, changed some stats of various critters in encounters,
- Added many new enemies in encounters: Mad Warriors, Dead Walkers, Rebeliants, Renegades, Melchior's Pets, Cultists of Colt, Followers of Rat God, Master's Elite Crew and robots. New encounters appear only for groups of three players or larger, and for caravans. Players are required to have at least 12th character level,
- Changed encounter groups on caravan routes in order to make them more interesting,
- Caravans without player guards will enter only encounters with players,
- No encounters on town zones (only large green circles, like Hub, NCR, Redding etc.),
- Added encounters on islands,
- Changed animation for .223 and 14mm pistols (SMG -> pistol),
- Decreased Pancor Jackhammer burst from 6 to 5 and mag capacity from 24 to 20,
- Changed DR mod of green shotgun ammo from -40 to -20,
- Changed DR mod of purple shotgun ammo from -20 to -25,
- Decreased dmg mod for groin shots by 1, changed various crit effects conditions for head/arm/eyes/groin shots.
- Additional NPCs will show up in several locations (grave diggers and some drunkards),
- Added NPC for checking current position and destination of all caravans. If they are in town, also departure time is shown. Caravan Master was added in Hub, near main grid,
- Warehouse map reworked, it's now bigger and has additional entrance,
- TC windows changed (Redding 21-22, Broken Hills 22-23),
- Added 1% chance to spawn random implant module in TC locker every 30min,
- Added 40mm grenade to TC locker spawn,

- Changed TC maps and zones:
Klamath - reworked trapper camp, extended TC zone to downtown,
Redding - reworked some buildings, extended TC zone to the northern part, added entrance/exit grid at Wanamingo mine,
Modoc - reworked chicken, reworked some buildings, extended TC zone to the northern part
Den - reworked southwestern part of the map, added entrance/exit grid there, added exit grid on south, extended TC zone,
Gecko - additional entrances to the abandoned reactor,
Broken Hills - reworked Residental area, extended TC zone,

- You can now play Russian Roulette via ~rr command. Needs a loaded magnum in active slot. Don't play it next to guards or they will loot your magnum :D
- Gambling capped at 150%,
- Companion spawn Modoc, Redding, Klamath, Gecko, Broken Hills and San Francisco,
- Removed starter items from companions,
- 12 level required to recruit companions,
- Range of Improved Flamer increased from 8 to 10 hexes,
- Deathclaws in warehouse were boosted (skill% and damage).

More changes incoming. And yeah, I didn't forget about fixes for fibre plants and other crap. Probably in next update.. mini-dungeon (HQ of Bounty Hunters) is partially completed. Have fun!

Thanks for the update. A small issue but yet an issue: anything being done about the useless .22 Hunter ammo spawning on enemies who use Hunting Rifle? Or that goes to the "other crap" category?

Good job, but maybe the pancor is useless now. I agree with the knockdown but the burst reducement is just too much for pancor to still be competetive against xl70e3 or even p90 :). This looks like the caravans will be very fun.

Cubik said he changed it to .223, but it's not included in his part of changelog, so you've got to check it yourself.

Btw I completely forgot to add new faction names, I'll add them tomorrow.

Good work with warehouse.

I dont like stonewall, now its a must have... and other perks like Man of steel cant compete with stonewall. I really think something must be done here

Also I dont really understand shotguns ammo. We have 1 "expensive" ammo, the green one. And we have the cheaper version, the purple..... Why is purple much better than green one? ? ? ? ? Just remove green ammo... Purple gives you -25 DR; Green gives you -20 DR and you lose 25% damage, wtf??? Btw, why are all shotgun ammo "armor piercing" type?

Yes the stonewall should give 50%, now its very good perk. The green ammo for shotgun is useless right now.

Well good job and great update, but it sux cuz pancor will still knockdown bursters, most of bursters dont have stonewall and even if have, 20% is nothing, but still good think that dmg is nerfed.

I dont think no one would take (and craft) 2nd type of ammo just because you could find some AC trolls. So green ammo its pointless, it will jsut confuse players who dont know about game mechanics (DR, DM, etc...)

Is there some spot where they appear, if you meet those requirements? So which caravans would encounter those enemies?

Caravans are now bugged, there was some error during update.

You can find them in group 3+ players

i have know my pancor char who i can delete, and he have hp implant, nice.

Farming fishermans who are wearing 28 sharpened pole, have 445 hp, and give 210 xp.

Other bug: cars will be lost if you die in new encounter, nice too.

I can sience my 300 pancors nice too.

No counter for craft.

Just replace pancors with m79 grenade laucher, same damage.

what else...

when you travel in 3 players there is a very high chance that one fo you will have good outdoor you will just click cancel so those encounters wont even be used

i got 250xp for renegade that is atleast 5 times harder than bounty hunter and 3x less xp

you can onehex deathclaw for 1500 xp and you can shoot 5 bursts a ghoul for 200 xp :D

i suggest raising the xp for those mobs 5 times

the sentry robot patrol is fucking hard, maybe even for 5 ppl

Something i want to say, Pancor was OP because of the damages AND knockback, I think it's better if we can have the choice, Slug ammo for knockback And flechettes for damages. But not both knockback and damages. Now it's both NO damages and poor knock. Just what i think.

You know why no dmg, cuz u use normal pancor to shoot tanks. Use some advanced or superior. Dmg is fine now, with -1 ap pancor and brof (4 ap per burst) u can burst 3 times and do good dmg, so now is much better than before, when u could kill guy in 3 bursts.

Nah I killed like two of them with Unique. Then I sold these awesome pieces of sg craftsmanship for like 4k caps each. Sorry guys. Have blupeprits somwhere, and mine, can make them. Anyway, actually I fall on the ground ones, but, you know, they kind of runaway (one PJ and one LSW).
Btw. Never shoot at BG tank on Tanker, you will hurt yourselfs.

Atleast I still see travellers in NCR and Hub, I think Kilgore added those new places and keep old ones.

Grave diggers are most likely to fill in graves that have been looted.
Wipe was explaining it to Kilgore a few weeks ago on IRC.

Nothing has changed, why do you complain now? You will not be able to take 2 cities, it was gecko/klamth before. Now its BH/Redding.

Or maybe it was perfect. All top guns should be used pretty much evenly, in different circumstances.

well the problem is that its not reliable now, before when somebody tried to onehex you you could burst him two times with pancor, buying you some time and distance, now if you shoot you will just die because he will run to you and onehex you, which makes pancor useless against any minigun or gatling, doing less dmg and not pushing anybody away

i agree, pancors was nerfed so much
and caravans are impossible with 1-2 players and even if you kill these new npcs caravan leader will die

Players with good builds are still using it and doing just fine. At least they can't 2 (max.3) shot-kill everybody without giving them chance to defend and now have to think how to play, not just spamclick.

lol what, sorry i dont agree, pancor hit tanks (with good builds) for 70-80 dmg and then kept doing less because of adrenaline rush

pancor is front line weapon, it was possible to defend against laser gatling and onehexers with that weapon, now its completely useless against such

i may have only 15 town control battles in my gamelife but that is what i saw and i attended half of those battles as sniper (211 hp and never had problem with pancors)

This is how normal damage looks like, not out of space 120-140 shots with first best char with pancor in hand.
Also keep in mind that pancor users are also heavy tanks not glass cannons.
Also#2 they got much better firerate (less ap per burst) than gatling/avenger and can shot 4 times not 3 before reloading.

full tank is never gonna shoot for 120-140. and why would you count crits ? even with all perks you can crit 15% on 5 bullets, thats almost nothing

Pancor with decent, but not overpowered dmg and without knockback is less effective than XL. Ok, dmg was extreme. The point was you could use knockback tactic ("different circumstances"). Now you can't even be sure if enemy flies (it's like 50-50).

You may call me a noob, but what I see is an unceasing whine when a particular type of guns gets their "better versions" - you tend to nerf every weapon that deals different than standard "around 90" dmg to the one that really does "around 90" (like a Pancor, it was meant to be an upgraded CAWS version, now it's maybe slightly better). The exception is Gatling - which is incomparable to any other weapon, it deals 300 dmg and you can burst two times (-ap ones, because of lockers, are really common now!). It was okay when Gatling was a very rare weapon - now it's not. Well, to be honest, every previously rare item is pretty popular now (lockers are to powerful - every noob can get their HPA).

Thanks why I said good build. I was shoting with char that got 20 crit chance, no better crit and as you can see even on 5 bullets it does matter (you don't see partial crits there
Also as far as I know full tanks should not be best dmg dealers shoting for 100-140 and getting hit for 60-90...

Pancor got better dmg + chance for knockback while XL got better range and can 1 hex (which btw. doesn't mean you will get 100% kill if you 1hex).
Additionaly pancor base dmg range is 8 (22-30) while for XL it's 20 (20-40) which means that pancor dmg is more consistent and reliable than this of xl where you can hit one for 90 and next one for 50.

I've never seen any PvP character hitting for 40 with gatling.

About the rare gear - giving everybody Gatling and PA set doesn't solve the problem. :D
To be more valid, two days ago I've found two Gatlings in an encounter locker, yestarday Unique Gatling and Advanced Bridgekeeper's Robe in one WH locker and overally (in last month) a lot of stuff like Unique NCR Ranger Combats or Unique Pulse Pistol, 3 PAs and HPA set. I was on bluesuit mostly. And yes, they will stay as a tent decoration. :D

I remember a thread where oldtime pvp'ers whined about newer players not pvping enough. Pancor was the poor man's entrance ticket - not as good as the megaweapons, but it could hold it's own. And it's possible to replenish after death  even without a huuge stash. Looks like it's all owned by the implant-loaded top tier gun users 100% again? Imho, nerfing pancor adds another advantage to oldtimers with plenty ubergear reserves and fucks up pvp entrance for newer players in yet another area. Unless the purpose is to have oldtimers always win, this might not be the best choice of nerf.
You >do< want players to have a chance more or less when battling the oldtimers right? Or is the 'skill' factor not enough, they're supposed to own it all - all the time?

Just wondering why this nerf was accompanied by a +10 to crit table on the already quite powerful TP rifle? And why no nerf to gatling laser? The oldtimer whiners got through?

Heck I'll go try it out see what happens, maybe pay for a reroll on one of my other toons. This all does seem to cater to the the rich hoarders more than it opens pvp for the newer players - these kinds of changes would be fun after a wipe tho ^

so u using pancor makes all my arguments void? heh...also, there are plenty implants around, the chests spit em out way too much -  they're just hoarded by certain factions. The core of my post deals with newbers and access to pvp. Hard enough to get people in there.

Oh really? It was megaweapon before this nerf and every other weapon was weaker than pancor.
Server pvp turned into pancor wars and many new players got use to owning people with 2-3 shots from magic rifle. I bet it must have been fun "Yatta! I clicked him twice realy fast and he died! Yay!" that's why there is so much complaining about this nerf because playing pancor requires now good build and some thinking.

Depending on location, enemies and your own team those are weapons that are used by EVERYBODY taking part in TC or other PvP activities:

Easily crafted:
pancor, xl, p90, sniper rifle, 223 pistol, gradate launcher
laser rifle, plasma rifle
avenger, rocket launcher, lsw

Caves/encounter lockers(?):
alien blaster, pulse pistol, turbo plasma rifle

So don't tell me that if you can buy/craft pancor you suddenly can't do same when it comes to other weapons? All crafted ones are easily accessible for newcomers and this gear is not even close to being ubergear reserved for oldtimers and hardcore pvp apes and inaccessible for new players. And as for weapons you can get from caves, ques what, many experienced players but those weapons from new players that enjoy locker and cave hunting.

As for gatling laser, it's strong ok, but it has many drawbacks for example from not being craftable or huge dmg range between min and max damage it can deal. Also farming gatlings is not as hard as it seams, you can do that easily in group of 2-3 people.

If u want to do some pvp, get good build and good gear. Thats all. You will get the skill fighting. Reno, warehouse now its often empty. Get a couple of friend, get CA mkII and -ap weapons and try some pvp.

Many pvp players still use pancors because it's still a good weapon. It's just now you need good build for it and know how to play it not just stand like turret and click on enemy.
