Game server is currently launched on another machine.
To connect, you have to change IP in FOConfig.exe:

Ok the data/cache needs to be cleared from the 31.11.189.128 folder and cache (keep the folder and cache just in case)

I'm still getting issues when trying to connect. Here (http://puu.sh/5rKlV.jpg (http://puu.sh/5rKlV.jpg)) you have the proof and what time is it atm.
I put the play.fonline-reloaded.net in the FOConfig.exe, and the port is also correct (2238), so I don't know if there's a problem with me or the server.
Any suggestions?

Just spent 30minutes trying to connect to either address, clearing cache, rebooting machine to kill unclosed connections..
Stupid timezones.

Maintenance is done.
What was done was complete reinstallation of OS on the server machine in order to decrease server costs.
However, I've run into some problems with recovering some chars with russian nicknames and I'm currently unable to fix it.
People who have such characters and have problem with login should write me PM, including names of these characters.
All other characters should work fine.

Looks like there are some surprises left in the engine so we have some problems with the server crashes.
I'm working on it, but I have no idea if there will be no more crashes. Server was changed to save progress every 10 minutes.
If nothing will work then I'll switch back to my alternate server.

See what happens when you get greedy? Should have just kept the other server. Didn't you say that you had enough funds to run the previous server until January of 2014? I mean, who's idea was it to switch anyways?

Also, important thing:
IF YOU CANNOT LOGIN, DO NOT CREATE CHARACTER WITH THE SAME NAME (in cyryllics)!
If the server is stable, I'll try one more attempt to recover lost characters, probably on server clone.

4 times in the last hour i got to level 19 - 20 lol then had to restart it again

I've still have problems with the server crashing, so saving your progress is not guaranteed, as it might crash any time.
If there is no other option I will switch to my backup server. If it still doesn't work, I will have to rollback to the last working state which was 16 hours ago.
Server is up so you can proceed but at your own risk.

There is zero offence intended in this post, but this is the exact same stupidity that was happening on Fo2238. The devs messes things up and didn't know how to fix it. Why would you switch servers in the first place? It was going good and smooth until somebody said "Hey! Lets save money and switch to a garbage server!" I mean, honestly, what were you guys thinking? Did you think the donations wouldn't keep up? What was the reason for the switch? And I was about to donate 50 bucks yesterday. I'm seriously thinking about going back to fonline 2. Like I said, this isn't meant to offend anyone, but stupid preventable mistakes like this is what causes the player-base to plummet.

And if you lose your shit after one maybe negative decision he makes and call that stupid, than I'm going to say that's offensive. All will be good...just don't forget the tits!

3. Server machine is exactly the same one, but with different OS.
4. Trying a different OS which would significantly cut server cost is always worth a shot. This means that the server will be online for longer time and less dependant on donations. Otherwise it's just shut down some day as 2238 was. Also, remember that I'm using massive amounts of my free time to get this running and updated once in a while. DocAn is spending a lot of his free time to make rerolls to those who donated. We are not rewarded with money in any way as all donations are used to pay for the server.
5. As it was said, if the thing keeps crashing, I will use the other solution to get rid of this problem. All you need is to have some patience.

Yes yes all that's good and dandy, and I appreciate all your "free time" you use for the server. But the thing is "worth a shot" means that you had no idea what could happen. It was preventable, and that's all I'm saying. Caution can solve a LOT of problems.

Sorry, I correct myself.. I think what you need is those computer children who like to play with servers and such things, these kind of server problems could be resolved much faster and you have more time for updates and you could forgot about server problems.

i think this server is working very well. i have no idea what wrong now, so i just wait for new ip adress. maybe we need just a bigger community, maybe more maps of encounters only or something like this. thank you.

I know that it would reduce some euros from the server bill, but is server worth of anything if it can't work?

Why you cant force of using normal A-Z letters only. People dont whine abot not including german, french, polish specific letters so the russian for the sake of stability should also use normal letters, not "hieroglyphs" (since Cleopatra died long ago).

I don’t see any reason why registering cyrillic chars shouldn’t be allowed. This game was developed mainly by Russians and has been played by Russians, without them you wouldn’t be playing this game at all. I also have the feeling that over 50% of community are in fact Russians or people who speak Russian fluently. Show some respect and let them have their own alphabet here (btw A-Z letters are enough to chat ingame for German, French or Polish).

If you want to build an altair for the russians, then go ahead. I think they socialistic symbols in San Francisco in game are enough for that.

I asked about server stability, if the cyrylic is not good for managing the server functions then it shouldnt be keep. Russians have the TLA MK2 so I dont understand your reply Kelin. Im not talking about about changing tla mk2, let it be russian in 100%. Im talking about possible crashes in the other Fonline instance, made by Polish people.
If Kilgore wants to add a chinese letters, then he will do that but right now, there was a reason of managing the cyrylic characters in game so it concerns me.

Characters with names written in cyryllics should work okay now (if they were made before Sunday). Report problems if there are still any.

Different OS - lower price for OS licensing etc.
Prices of dedicated servers are going down, so I think we'll be changing provider in few months. Last configuration change surely wasn't as smooth as I wanted it to be, but it wasn't the worst one either. Several crashes with <10min rollback aren't a catastrophe, the real problem would be if they would continue for days, or if the server was down for longer time, but that's really not an option as I always have a backup server ready to go.
Anyway, for now there are more important things to be done (updates).
