There will be a team PvP event tomorrow (Sunday), starting at 22.00 server time.
It will take place on Hinkley - Warzone map.
Prizes:
1st place: Vertibird + Bozar + 8 implant modules,
2nd place: Hardened Power Armor + Helmet + 6 implant modules,
3rd place: Gauss Rifle + Gauss Pistol + 4 implant modules.
Each winning team chooses which implant modules they want (however, max. two of one type).
Each participating team will get additional gifts.
Requirements:
1. At least five characters in every team ready to fight. Teams can be larger than 5 only if both teams agree.
2. Every team is required to pay 25.000 entry fee to register - contact me on irc/in game.
3. Registration will be closed two hours before the event starts - at 20.00. Detailed rules will be posted after that.
After each battle begins, every participant receives a set of drugs (Psycho, Buffout, Jet, Nuka-Cola, Cigarettes) and 10x Super Stimpak

6. Camping the same place/room is not allowed. Warnings will be issued, three warnings = team loses the round.
7. At the end of the event, there will be an additional fight for all teams at once.
8. Prizes will be given AFTER the event ends, I will contact leaders of every team.
9. If everything goes well, all fights will be recorded and available on YouTube.

Unfortunately, no. 22.00 is probably the best option for all active teams, as they are from Europe and America.

Is it going to be bracketed, random, or how is match ups going to be decided, just curious, i assume most of this will decide on how many teams will actually attend, how many rounds, things like that

I think it was a very good idea....only one I did not like...we died quickly like pigs at slaughter ;D and I was both matches blind :) but it is not the fault of the organizers....It was a good experience for me

It was quite long. we started at 10:20pm and we finish at 0:30.
we were very close to be in finall mach ;/ but i failed in 2nd round.
I dont know if this is right to let 1 gang set 2-3 teams on the same conditions, baecasue some gangs have 2x chance to win competition. I hope Kilgore will make this tournament more periodic.

For me true winners were c88 who didnt used ts/mumble and they were in finals!!! well done !!!

Well they weren't the true winners because they didn't win, but they did an amazing job given what they had to work with... and they had a really nice, unorthodox team composition. I think it's quite telling that top 2 went with something rather new, while third team took a very non-Hinkley comp and made it work. Also congroo to Cheeki for that sneaker play, can't wait to see the youtube vids.
By the way, there's nothing wrong with gangs fielding 2-3 teams imo, it's not like they're guaranteed to win or they increase their odds because 1 person can't fight on 2 teams. Besides, both teams could clash on round #1 and from a gang perspective it's just a waste of 25k on a pre-scheduled Hinkley match. ARWH and TLS both fielded 2 teams and didn't make it to the top three. TLA fielded only 1 team and they probably had 10 people sitting it out on the bench. I actually didn't like the 2 team limit, I think it shouldn't be present on the next event because it's basically punishing players who are in large gangs. You still need the skill to win and the implants are a personal thingie, not a gang property - if one of the winners decided to quit his gang, his implants would go with him.
If you really have to impose some limitation on multiple teams from one gang, simply increase the buy-in cost for subsequent teams:
Team #1 25,000 caps
Team #2 50,000 caps
Team #3 75,000 caps
etc.

Kilgore great job and i agree that tournaments like this should be once a month. But like Jacky said, my favorites were c88 because they didnt have mic/ts, they communicated via chat, so good job guys!

This was a great event, Even tho we lost the last round vs BBS #2, Im sure we could have done alot better if we had Voice comunication but we had no leader so the tactics we used were rather strange way of fighting. you guys all fought very well. /Sorrow, The PvE Farmer.
Edit : < ^ > V , are actuly pretty decent way to organize team without Voice, But alot of the fights were planed on how we would fight the enemy 20 mins before we fought them and who we would focus fire on if showed.

Good job guys! Originally the C88 team had to be completely different composed. I was a bit skeptical when I knew that these guys were going, just because the couldn't handle any voice communication. This was really surprising. Good job C88 and to anyone else.
Looking forward for the movies.

Same here, personally I like when gang can even set 3-4 teams - Thats show only strength of gang. Im sure if that tournamnet had place on other server we would set 3 teams easly, same as Hawks for example. Funny part is that one team limitation wouldnt never get BBS into a finals ;) If thre is more teams, then better.
I was thinking about changing the formula of tournamnet.. really missed fight with TTTLA and C88, I realy would like to see monthly? league of FOnline teams, even have ready concept but that requie some cooperation between developers and leaders of different servers. We all gone split into different servers andthere will be opportunity to compete with each other. Besides there is way more teams like for example RDA/BHH/SOT and did i mention something about russian teams.. ? :)

The final was just mess for our side, really.
Not to mention I had completly no idea where they were at the last round, you can see me there just being confused

Well it was not me who started all this funny PvP (Project vs Project) crap again.
Some people just need to grow up, but I think it's still a bit too late for this game (FOnline). I was always against some strange wars between various devteams as it simply leads nowhere.
Now you should look at the amount of "FOnline: Reloaded is a load of crap and it's devs are fags" posts made and kept on forum of your favorite "other server" sometimes by it's contributors and ask yourself: where is the problem exactly..

Honeslty i dont give fuck about developers relations, same as 95% other players. We just want to have good place to play. That was just non binding? proposal to make league of fonline gangs. However that requie a lot of compromises from all developers/leaders and players becouse server has to be independent - BBS/TTTLA wont play on FO2, SOT/GR/S8/RDA and other gangs wont play on Reloaded and there is also a lot of other gangs from different servers. Finding balance, scripitng - that would take a week of work, but proably that woud never happend becouse of pride of some people :(

There is no chess, or huge logical thinking in fonline. Victory strategy is simple : camp good position and have good numbers. Also there is no " personal skill " , you can call yourself a bit skilled if you know how to hex, but it's also too dependent on your connection and pc.

If you've ever played a competitive FPS, then you know that there are merits to sticking to a spot and then rotating, as they did. That being said, the first death being 17 minutes in was a bit silly.
When we went up against them, we immediately saw that they were camping the outside, and the second round we intended to do the same to force them to come to us. Then, we got yelled at, forced to move, and caught at a really, really bad spot and raped. If we had a sniper, we would have done the same thing they did. You don't send a sniper rushing into a building full of enemies, that is just silly.

That's what i'm talking about. You can camp with long range in one corner, then go to another corner, then back to previous one. So competitive, so HS. I have nothing agains BBS play, they were good, and i saw them doing good in action before (Kinderwhore for example), but this "campparade" looks too much for me.

He won the rambo award for finishing three players off who had just dropped their weapons to a jinxed AC build. Needless to say, they didn't win a round after that.

What? Our team composition didn't involve much that benefited from camping, or from being outside at max range. I was using frag grenades, for christ's sake. I'm not sure that you understood my post. And actually, we were not cornered. Quite to the contrary, we were caught in an open hallway through windows/doors with all exits too far away to get to without casualties.
God forbid anyone try anything fun or different, why don't we just restrict the next tournament to BGs only. We joked about bringing 5 big gunners as we were signing up, but decided to do something with a bit more thought to it. Turns out, that's the winning choice. (I am not implying with this statement that BSB used too many big guns, they actually had a healthy mix and brought a sniper, so I give them props.)

It’s a boring video because everybody tries to avoid any mistakes. If you watch other competitive sports or games you will notice, that most of the top winning strategies are quite boring to watch, no matter if it’s a game of poker, Street fighter, Starcraft, Counter Strike or some speed trial in rally, these are quite uninteresting to wider audience, everybody wants to see Royal flushes in final tables, best combination of combos, complicated strategies, headshots and drifting all the time.

Woah, woah, woah. Let's all just calm down a bit here. Are you saying that the best strategies in CS are boring? CS is all about the fast action plays and the most exciting bit of the match is when one guy just goes berserk and aces a team. Not to mention, in CS you have a clock you have to beat. There was no urgency to kill each other here.

Whaaat ?! Man i hope it was a joke. CS, Dota, even CHEESS are interesting. But it's not very exciting to watch capmparade. Rotating between corners of the map isn't skill. It's obvious advantage for ranged team.
I have nothing about whole event - it was great, and thx to everyone for it, i was glad to spend my time in fonline at that moment. My comment was just about video that msh posted. Again, nothing personal, no insults or other things, i just didnt see any skill, which was mentioned.

Was just an example, I’m not a CS expert but I have played some matches "for fun" and I can imagine there are some top players who are very cautious and that there is lots of waiting (not saying camping) and that such game can last much longer than regular fun matches. What I mean is a tournament match compared to a regular match and don’t tell me that one guys goes berserk all the time there.
If some CS pr0s got offended, then just kurva ignore the Counter strike reference.
@Flre: It mostly depends on the viewer, for example these FOnline fights are 100000x more interesting than any Chess match for me.

I am cheeki, nobody i killed had functioning weapon besides the first guy, and i literally 1hexed him directly out of stealth so he had no chance.
I'll blatantly admit that most if not all the reason we lost our second set of matches with C88 was because my character was completely unable to deal significant damage to the enemy players at the ranges we were fighting at without dying. By the time i was in a 25 hex range and firing, i was dead.
I won't lie, i'll be amazed if Avengers and rocket launchers don't get nerfed hard next balance patch.

Incidentally, the same thing happened to BBS #1 fighting against BSB. BBS #1 was also Avenger-heavy. It's a matter of composition. Besides, take that balance bullshit elsewhere, it belongs in a ghetto called "suggestions" where people can just opt to ignore it.

Hey why is the third fight of C88 with ARWH cutted out?
That was the deciding one.
And oh god to explain why am I just running there, my character has low PE - and we didn't have any communication. I had no idea where they were attacking from, so I kept checking the windows n' stuff.
And also one more thing, at the end where somebody said '1' so I thought there was only one guy left ya know, the RL guy, that's why I said 'I'll one hex him' :P

Pretty sure he took it out as a timesaver, as he showed how clearly you won the second round. Watching that match (because I was on the other team, not the one you faced) brings great joy to me, as I watch sanic flail helplessly trying to get you to shoot him as you kill his teammates.
