Title: How honest is hit chance marker?
Post by: adolftinker on September 21, 2017, 02:56:12 pm
Because it's feeling like not honest at all.
Missing 3 95% shots in a row 2 times in 10 shots fight multiple times in one hour is almost impossible, and i played XCOM and learned to live with 95% chance to hit misses.
Hit chance page on wiki didn't explained anything.

fast shot, yes

So aimed shots lower your chance to hit and now fast shot gives your non-aimed shots a chance to hit a random body part. It's possible that the random body part shots are treated like aimed shots and lower your chance to hit. This could be a bug, lets see what devs say

Pretty impressive reasoning - I quite agree this should be something to look at.

Ive noticed this too but assumed it was intentional on the part of the devs. Guess we will see.

Yes.  :P

Spoiler: show

Fast shot can randomly change your unaimed shot into aimed with almost all effects like bonus crit chace and chance to hit penalty just as if you were aiming for certain body part. It can't however cause armor bypass on criticals.

Since you can't know where your next shot will go you can't display hit chance value calculated with aim penalty.

What about changing fastshot hit chance to always count as unaimed even when it rolls aim to avoid confusion ?

You can make hit chance always count as unaimed or you can use....

calculation for average chance to hit: (correct me if I'm wrong)

20% unaimed, 10% eye, 10% head, 10% left arm, 10% right armo, %10 left leg, %10 right leg, %10 torso, 10% groin

let's say you have 95% when shooting unaimed but 10% when aimed eyes and 50% when aimed anywhere else

(95 * 0.2) + (10 * 0.1) + (50 * 0.1) + (50 * 0.1) + (50 * 0.1) + (50 * 0.1) + (50 * 0.1) + (50 * 0.1) + (50 * 0.1) = 55% average chance to hit

I think you can code this calculation to give you accurate display of hit chance with fast shot

I think fastshot is OP already. At least for me.

I did also have noticed that sometimes I miss for 3 times in a row at 95%, while getting the skill to higher level solved these issues.

i agree with this. it makes no sense at all to make a tb spammer with 250+ gunskill. or even more.
