A third armor/accessory slot
« on: November 10, 2013, 03:04:48 am »
I'm finding some pretty neat nick-knacks in footlockers but they aren't good by themselves  :'(
I'm thinking maybe add an accessory slot next to the helmet slot in your inventory for items like Mirrored shades, diamond necklaces and last but definitely not least, goggles. Goggles have a great use, but not used in place of helmets.... In fact without a helmet, a head crit is most of the time worse than an eye crit. Just a thought, but I'd like to hear some opinions maybe?

No, Helmets even shouldn't be here but its too much work to throw them away.

Actualy helmets isn't bad idea, combine Normal dmg res for body and perhaps laser dmg res for head...
Even in Fallout 3/NV you could have different types of helmets...

What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger...

I like the idea, since I like mirrored shades and goggles, but I'm not sure if it's really necessary.
Goggles might actually be better than a helmet if you are a tank with Bonehead and Man of Steel.
And characters with high charisma below 10 could make good use of sunglasses, since they're probably longrange fighters anyhow.

The only problem is that they're fairly rare and valuable so you don't really see anyone wearing them.

You could allow an additional accessory slot but the one's who would profit most from it would be power players that really don't need another buff and you'd soon have people crying for more slots for boots, belts, gloves and a quickslot F1-12 bar for drugs and healing items.

I am 100% IN FAVOR of this excellent idea, Gimper. I have had the same thought many times. Wow great items, i really want to use them but no way am i taking off my helmet for it. So yes, open an armor slot for special items like goggles, shades, nullifier, necklace or whatever - sounds great to me.
