4.ya i think i saw that after i posted the last comment. he doesnt have time to teach people. people have to teach themselves.
5. T_T but i dont do factions! like. i saw that faction bases and caves where in the prosess a long time ago. but that was like ... 5 months ago. Kilgore needs some help here. but ya. im not intrested in factions specially when there are so little ppl in the community. and its pretty hard as is to level up. ontop of being a harsh wasteland. so going cave running? nope. i fear deathclaws....

thanks for the help everyone sense im back to playing FO:O Reloaded.
also i played FO:O 2... and it wasnt very... interesting.
and too many russian FO:O variants.

so. heres my next question.

what is in the process of being made? or happening. i hear that the wipe is still in processing..... for some reason. but idk.

what are we seeing to come? besides maps. which ill never play on... because i dont do factions... or dungeons.
would like to see a way to improve over the players tent location/shack location. lol maybe a renuvator to pay to upgrade it to look like so and so. personal hot spots is what id call them. or personal bases. :p sorta like faction bases. just smaller. \
-but thats just my opinion for an idea. to make things interesting. to further in depth make the crafting and creation system :D ... seams like alot of work o.o
use the community! they would be amazing help for this!!! :D heck. if one guy can do FO2: Restoration Project (FO2 mod to re-add all the cut content to be as close to the originals as possible, amazing job in doing so btw) and another guy by himself did FO2: MIB88 Mega Mod. then. imagine what ... 8~10 maybe more additional hands could do with creativity!

the game has its ups and downs.

wile people say "its the wasteland, what'd you expect?" then i think "really? an invisible guy jumps me, bursts me from point blank and steels my ore and kills my slave? thats the wasteland? i wasnt expecting people to be invisible"

i made a complaint about this and had ideas to combat this. such as using the PE skill to have a better chance of detecting those "invisible" (in sneak) people  ;). then i thought and gave my opinion of an idea on have the "awareness" perk also detect anyone sneaking at a certain distance or some mathematical calculation enhancement to detect people better. and even thought of limiting it to encounters with Curious Nature perk. but nope. i got flamed. then some one said to just have the level of sneak on player A given the chance to detect player B that is in sneak. but that would be too complicated. and certain builds dont push any points to sneak as well.
 In the end. i just dropped it. its a game. people shouldn't be saying "its the wasteland, what'd you expect?" if its not a wasteland simulator XD.

i mean ya it has to be a bit harsh at times. in FO1,2, and tactics. the wasteland was pretty much 89% enemy hot zone. wile about 20~25% of THAT could be knocked off by joining certain factions or progressing threw missions. -What each of these games actually didnt have a feel for. was the feel that you can be mugged or killed at any time. in turn it gave a better sense of security wile to wonder your way STRAIT to Navarro after leaving Arroyo. =in FO:O that changes as that sense of security makes everyone, even Seki (i think that was his user name, one of the top players of the game) to be paranoid. even in a faction you can be rolled by some randome wile inside a randome town for no reason.

the thing is that because of this there is also a cheaper and more lax of trying to inject a sense of security by giving the player their own tent, shack. what ever. to store their equipment. and a bank that will (i think) inject money into the players account via interest. i think it was like 11%. banks in game ONLY for storing caps though. and is MUCH safer then a tent where some one could party tag you and follow you to your tent and ransack it then take all your items.

its a survival game. think of it as DayZ or something. craft, manufacture, build, arm, load, pull the receiver back. then squeeze that trigger. it has a slight lack of action as its more of a survival game without the need for NEEDING food or water.

just dont get shot. its your only weakness and everyone knows it.

LOL LOL LOL.

FOnline is FOnline and FOnline 2 is such idiotic name and breach of license. FOnline: (PUT YOUR NAME) is for all fonline servers but only idiots from FOnline 2 make it stupid. This is confusing and people might think it is second version or sth.

so there is no linkage between FO:O Reloaded devs and author and FO:O 2? besides maybe content.

and whats the relation of FO:O Reloaded and FO:O 2238?

heres a question. why keep FOnline 1, 2 (and possibly) 3. separate and not the same? as in same forum and game. i mean FOnline 2 looks just about... the same as FOnline 1 (FOnline Reloaded... i might have that wrong too. correct me if i am)
OR
i missed a memo and the games are TOTALLY different, and have a diffrent author and/or dev team.

oh ya. i got my new computer up now.
one OP APU (8560 GPU and 3.9Ghz CPU that will overclock on its own to 4.2 if needed), a good 1TB, 8GB over performance RAM (so like 9.2GB RAM), a cooler master case with a salvaged circulation intake fan from my older computer.

NOW when i ported all my stuff over via LAN from my old computer. i took most if all my games, including FOnline, FO1, FO2, FO3, and my entire STEAM.
SOO now for some reason my FO2238Config is working for some unknown reason

thats a shame... those are like collectable now. i still got my FO2 and FoT demo CD. they still work. sell them in a few years. for the price of a new relased game (like $59-69 USD)

Also, if you use the fucking search option on the forum, there is a thread that will tell you how to do it without even owning the original FO2.

ya. i see now. ill use that. thx... *huggles* XD

also White Label CD is copy right locked so i cant pull stuff off of it without it being installed. (full install didnt give the music, even though music is still playing in FO2. no disk needed for launch)

I didn't mean to offend you. I know it was a misspell.
In FOnline if your character has low int it sometimes changes letters. For example "J" into "G". That's why I said "Low int on forum". It was a joke. Chill.


Back on topic:
In order to have music in the game, you have to put music folder from Fallout2 into your FOnline Reloaded/data/sound directory.

just trying to be an anti-troll is all. didnt know if you where trying to be one.

and there is no music folder in the FO2 directory as i said before.

all i have in ther is a bunch of support items (launcher, uninstaller, etc.), the MASTER and CRITTER.dat . the data folder that has SAVEGAME, worldmap.dat, maps, and art. no sound folder. but i still have sound in FO2.

i understand what your saying. i was just running around up north with a cow looking for stuff. had to run by modoc to sell a little stuff and craft some stuff. i got tagged by some one i couldnt see.

i exited Modoc and clicked to go to my safe house to drop all this stuff off. then the guy appeared in my party. i kicked him. but then on the way to my safe house i got a forced encounter, i spawned on a desert map with the guy that tagged me and tried to follow me - spawned right next to me as if he was still in my party. then mowed me down with a minigun at point blank without me able to even move a hex.
-so wtf happen. i lost at least 125 metal parts, 50~ junk, 4 wood (meh), and 4 HQ alloy.

then another time when i got tagged i got onto the world map and the person appeared right then, so i kicked him. i started on my way to vault city/gecko to do some leveling by farming ghouls. about 2 minutes of travel i got a force encounter. it was ONE mole rat. i killed it then was on my way to the exit grid. but running only 4 hexes, the person that tagged me that i kicked. ran near 1 hex infront of me (he was in sneak mode), i ran past him then he bursted me with a 10mm SMG killing me instantly. i lost an advanced combat shotgun, 300 shotgun shells, and an improved leather jacket that gives +1 PE and +9DT and -5crit damage... (usually i wouldnt care about loosing these things when in legit combat... BUT this situation is unfair. not even giving me the time to actually combat.)

You can change settings via FOnline2238.cfg too, forgot to say earlier.

Basic text editing, I think you can manage it.

but FOConfig doesnt have music settings. thats the magor issue that im having. FO online seams too quiet... dead. empty without music

Hold Shift then push + or - buttons to change music volume.
And there is no music in the game. First you have to put it from original Fallout 2.

how do i do that when theres no music folders in the FO2 directory. and without the ability to port the master and critter files using the FO2238Config, like it use to be.

running FO2238Config in win98 comp mode didnt do anything nether. still crashes after clicking on it.
I really don't know why people suggest to use win98 mode with FOnline, it really doesn't work with it.

Usually crashes mean you are missing some component that is needed to run some program.

Check that you have next components installed on your computer

- DirectX 9.0c (if you don't have, check my guide for web installer)
- .NET Framework (did you tried it already?)

This could cause problem with games/programs too.

So if u don't understand let me explain to you, on my computer if i don't use this compatibility mod i have constant crash when i start the game, some guys of my team had same problem, and this problem was solved by using win98 compatibility, so...

but FOnline isnt having issues. just the FO2238-CONFIG-
