Player market
« on: November 30, 2013, 07:08:20 pm »
Barter ground is surely nice step forward but it is by no means market for players. Because all players are not online at the same time. It is nescessary to create sell and buy orders which can be filled by other players while order issuer is offline.

It might be made by dialog options with some auction house npc.

Any other ideas?

First, buyers pay for an "auction item" they take to a tent or base and place inside a locker. They put whatever caps (and optionally items too) in there that they will use to buy stuff.

Second, sellers get qualified for an "auction space" at Barter Grounds (and maybe pay a fee to get it and keep it). With a space there, they can advertise on forum, by name of auction space.

At that time seller is given an "auction item" which they add to a locker in one of their tents or bases. With the auction item in one of your lockers, that locker's contents can now be browsed by other players (buyers only) who visit Barter Grounds.

Buyers see seller's ads on the forum (and maybe on billboards in towns), they note an auction's name, and go to Barter Grounds. They click on any table and use the "Say" button to enter the auction's name. At that point they can browse the contents of that seller's auction locker remotely and see prices.

Once a buyer commits to a purchase, the items/cap are automatically switched between lockers (with a "sold flag" so the system does not show them as browseable anymore).

Comments welcomed.
