Playable races
« on: July 30, 2015, 06:58:33 pm »
Sorry if this has been suggested before, but with the newish skins available it has made me think of hacking fallout tactics to be able to play as a deathclaw. You could do any race that had recruits by moving them into the prefab character positions, starting a new game, and modifying the prefab character.

One of the things about being these races is they had different caps on SPECIAL.
Like deathclaws could get up to 12 strength and endurance and some other stats were capped lower.  Mutants and ghouls couldn't wear normal armor.

I don't think this matches up with the deathclaw companion from fallout 2 though. It's been a while.

I don't think rolling a melee character with the deathclaw skin would get me very far and I want to do it! Must... RP.... :)

deathclaws and ghouls doing TC ? or attacking other ghouls/deathclaws ? game would look terrible then, i think its better when players can be only humans

i would also like to see only human skins, not creatures, it looks weird

Well there are intelligent deathclaws. Not sure how you'd want to skin their appearance, but I don't see why it would be so weird after using them in fo2 and tactics

Oh gr8 idea. Turn the best fonline server in existence into a role play server. And change the mechanics of character creation in the process. Sounds like a perfect way for Kilgore to spend his developing time.

Seriously, do people even think before they suggest things?

Mutants and/or ghouls with some specific pros and cons would be awesome.
Roleplay does not exclude PvP. Years are passing by and people still tend to think it's not possible to mix these two. Weird.

TC sux hairy ballz anyway, why bother?

Remember it needs to be properly balanced. And it cannots make super mutants more powerfull in BG than humans. It's not so simple, anyway...make it only supermutants, ghouls, deathclaws and robot humanoid, nothing more pls...

Two words: Art Fuck.
I like the idea that you "can" play a DC or mutie or ghoul. But to do so, you should have an alternative Gen point, one surrounded by like......
Well, muties, maybe a new mariposa.... now it's THE home of all muties. Anyone can walk up to the gate, but if you try to attack anyone they go Hub guard on you. It's not like there's a chest in 5 here to fight over, just the AWB. Make that like the GR AWB, or remove it, put it in....... uh...... NR sewers?
But ghouls, gen up by VC. DC's, in "family bunker" near NR, where the Alpha casts you out.... like a lion pride alpha....

Of course, mutants are best equipped to deal with the world today. Who else? The Ghouls? Please. Normals? They brought nuclear death to us all. This will be the age of mutants! Mutants.

I suggest:
- longer shot range,
- lower penalty for bursts from miniguns, avengers and m60,
- larger distance of throw,
- disable small guns skill,
- higher big guns and energy weaponry at start
- more hp and damage resists.

They still can be:
- doctor (first aider),
- crafter,
- lockpicker,
- bartener,
- repairman and scientist,
- etc.

Players will have something new in FO:R world, and they must gain their own skill to play with/against it. :D

Also the new builds, and new game play will arrive. :)

I see only positives...what about minuses of such a build ?
Less agility, luck or perception ?
sorry but lower int and ch isn't something really bad for now...

Since they'll be using mutant skins.
No running.

And that's major flaw playing as mutie. Been there, seen that, by the time you crawl to the enumi, he will be far away or you will be dead. Fair trade for few extra HP and some skills bonus.
