As most of you know already, there is a wipe coming. I think it's time to write more about it.

What is wipe?
Wipe is a full server restart including removal of all player data. All factions, characters, private maps and items get removed and the new session is started. Reasons for doing that are:
- major changes in characters, maps and features,
- fixing the damage done by previous bugs and exploits or bad game mechanics.
So far, there were more than 45.000 characters registered since the launch of Reloaded and there are more than 22.000 maps (99% of them are private maps: tents, faction bases and such) with about 2.000.000 items inside them. Full server restart will help in bringing game economy to a healthy state, and not only game economy, but other things like PvP balance. It will also give an opportunity to a larger number of players to have a fair start.

When will it happen?
There is no exact date specified yet. It depends on when all work is done. Also, there will be a short testing session before wipe, on our test server (not the current Reloaded which will stay online until wipe). Our TODO list is huge and I think it will take approximately 2 months to get things ready.
I would not call it soon, so you can just keep playing and not be bothered much by wipe. Most items are easy to get and gaining 24th level isn't too timeconsuming, so after the wipe you should be back on track pretty fast.

What about updates?
The last updates were mainly bugfixes and changed minor stuff. Yesterday's update should be the last before the actual wipe and we're not going to make another update unless there is some gamebreaking bug or exploit discovered.

What is going to be changed?
Well, a lot of stuff. Our detailed TODO list has 20 kilobytes of text so it's pretty long. Some things probably won't make it because of various reasons, but still it's going to be a big update. Changelog will be posted when the test session starts. I hope that mojuk and Opera will help us with getting their character planners updated so you can prepare your characters on time.

How can you help?
Make maps. Encounter maps and base maps. We'll add them if they are good and complete. We could also add new vehicles if we have awesome graphics files for them. Other than that, report bugs and exploits so the game will be better when we launch another session. Make reasonable suggestions about how to improve existing stuff.

Below you will find a list of what we're going to change. I know it's not detailed but it should give you a basic idea what we are working on. Some things are small, but others require days (if not weeks) of work. Final changelog will be much longer and probably longer than an initial changelog for Reloaded.

Maps and activities
- New public locations,
- New base types (including very expensive ones),
- New encounter maps,
- New caravans,
- New enemies in encounters,
- New arenas for Hinkley,
- New PvP/PvE activities,
- New special encounters,
- New dungeons and existing dungeons changed,
- New maps and some of existing maps changed,
- An equivalent of Barter Ground in southern part of the map.

Crafting & Gathering
- New item bonuses,
- Changed some bonus of crafted items,
- Some recipes changed to make top stuff more expensive to craft and requiring new resources,
- Gathering resources will be removed from private locations (except Private Mines) and moved to towns and other public locations with increased accessibility,
- Limited capability of slave mining, but manual gathering more effective than it is now,
- Rare items possibly craftable from rare materials and blueprints.

Items
- New implants,
- Some changes in drugs and Jet Antidote,
- New usable map objects,
- New energy weapons,
- New flares,
- A possibility to upgrade item bonuses,
- Backpacks, sandbags, and other useful items,
- Rare stuff will be more difficult to get than it is now, but there will be more places to get it. Current TC lockers, Warehouse/NRA lockers spawns will be changed.

Skills & perks
- New support perks,
- Reserved skill will be changed to something useful,
- Sneak will be rebalanced and Stealth Boy reworked,
- New types of locks and explosives,
- New uses for Science and Repair,
- New minigames for Gambling skill,
- Perk changes in order to make some perks more interesting.

Followers
- New companion types,
- Allowing followers to attack players when guarding bases,
- Mercenaries will be able to attack players,
- Improved leveling followers and increasing their main skills.

And many other fixes and improvements.

- Players will be always notified about an already existing Turn-Based encounter, despite of their stats, also there is additional warning about an encounter being Turn-Based,
- Added Gecko's Breath shotgun shells, available at traders,
- Followers (companions, slaves and mercenaries) will not attack players, even if attacked by them,
- Enabled free barter with mercenaries,
- Lock from lockers in Warehouse and New Reno Arms removed,
- Added new faction names proposed by players,
- Radio reception is disabled on new items (however default channel 0 stays),
- Fixed a bug causing crashes in Modoc when using Fog of War,
- Fixed a bug with entering encounters with other players,
- Fixed a bug with changing armors on models 45/128 (Ian/Old Ian),
- Fixed a bug with Solar Scorcher not showing %chance to hit,
- Fixed a bug with Solar Scorcher not being reloaded by followers + description of this pistol,
- Fixed a bug with default ammo type for Phazer,
- Fixed a bug with Knockback perk causing knockout on melee weapons.

Run updater to get new graphics file (updated reloaded001.zip file).

The most important change is about followers. This change was going to happen with wipe, but seeing constant PvE in PvP madness I decided to make it now. After wipe, mercenaries will be allowed to attack players. Not now because I'm aware of the fact that some players have enough funds (from bank interest and other things and exploits that were fixed in the past) to spam mercenaries PvP.
For PvE followers work exactly in the same way as before.


Fixes 22/04/2014
- H&K CAWS burst changed to 5, max capacity to 15,
- Pyromaniac will not affect shotgun fire ammo (it will be working again after wipe, with changed Pyromaniac perk)
- Sneak penalty should be calculated properly for NCR, Enclave, Desert Combat Armors and Bridgekeeper's Robe,
- TB-only warning removed when approaching "new" encounter.

Fixes 15/07/2014
- Explosion of C4/dynamite removes all armed C4/dynamites inside explosion radius (by mojuk)
- Fixed a bug with multiple detonations near doors.

Fixes 11/01/2015
- Decreased critical hit roll bonus of Turbo Plasma Rifle from +10 to +5,
- Steal in Hub is disabled.

Fixes 25/01/2015
- Fixed a bug causing broken base terminal when the first faction base is bought for bottle caps (by mojuk).

- All combat and power helmets have radio equipped now (only new items),
- Default channel for all radios is set to 0,
- Radio reception is enabled by default,
- Fixed bonus for Desert Helmet and NCR Combat Helmet,
- Knockback perk changed to Penetrate perk for Mega Power Fists and Power Fists,
- Warehouse locker can be opened only after guards are dead,
- Warehouse guards are more aggressive now,
- Few computers with electronic parts added inside Vault 15 (Level 1),
- Vault 15 has two additional containers spawning weapons with limited bonuses (and an additional guard),
- Additional ammunition spawns in Vault 15 and Warehouse basement,
- Added kill counter for Pashtshuurs,
- Mirrored Shades can be found again,
- Volume for Pashtshuur and Plant Spikes changed to 0,
- Fix: Gunrunners quest with mutants is now repeatable,
- Fixed a bug with Ruined Military Bunker location not being removed (will affect only new locations),

- Special Encounters can't be found in areas without normal encounters (like town zones),
- Few dialogue and description fixes.

Minor things, mostly bugfixes. Thanks to those who reported (Seki, Илюха, Mighty).

Additional changes to FO2238Config.exe tool:
- Fog of War enabled by default, all you need to do is setting a hotkey via tool and use it in game (no further .cfg editing required),
- You can set hotkeys for using following items: First Aid Kit, Field Medic Kit, Hypo, Doctor's Bag, Paramedic's Bag, Motion Sensor (On/Off), Stealth Boy (On/Off), Detonator, Radio.

Use updater to download new FO2238Config.exe.

- Stonewall perk now protects against knockdown from grenades, rocket explosions and shotgun bursts, chance to avoid knockdown is based on Strength, 10 ST gives roughly 95% chance, 9 ST - 80%, 8 ST - 60%, 7 ST - 40%, 6 ST - 20%,
- Turbo Plasma Rifle has now +10 crit roll,
- Shotguns can cause knockdowns up from 10 hexes (previously 7),
- Shotguns now have 10% per bullet chance to knockback (previously 20%)
- Decreased exp from ghouls, changed some stats of various critters in encounters,
- Added many new enemies in encounters: Mad Warriors, Dead Walkers, Rebeliants, Renegades, Melchior's Pets, Cultists of Colt, Followers of Rat God, Master's Elite Crew and robots. New encounters appear only for groups of three players or larger, and for caravans. Players are required to have at least 12th character level,
- Changed encounter groups on caravan routes in order to make them more interesting,
- Caravans without player guards will enter only encounters with players,
- No encounters on town zones (only large green circles, like Hub, NCR, Redding etc.),
- Added encounters on islands,
- Changed animation for .223 and 14mm pistols (SMG -> pistol),
- Decreased Pancor Jackhammer burst from 6 to 5 and mag capacity from 24 to 20,
- Changed DR mod of green shotgun ammo from -40 to -20,
- Changed DR mod of purple shotgun ammo from -20 to -25,
- Decreased dmg mod for groin shots by 1, changed various crit effects conditions for head/arm/eyes/groin shots.
- Additional NPCs will show up in several locations (grave diggers and some drunkards),
- Added NPC for checking current position and destination of all caravans. If they are in town, also departure time is shown. Caravan Master was added in Hub, near main grid,
- Warehouse map reworked, it's now bigger and has additional entrance,
- TC windows changed (Redding 21-22, Broken Hills 22-23),
- Added 1% chance to spawn random implant module in TC locker every 30min,
- Added 40mm grenade to TC locker spawn,

- Changed TC maps and zones:
Klamath - reworked trapper camp, extended TC zone to downtown,
Redding - reworked some buildings, extended TC zone to the northern part, added entrance/exit grid at Wanamingo mine,
Modoc - reworked chicken, reworked some buildings, extended TC zone to the northern part
Den - reworked southwestern part of the map, added entrance/exit grid there, added exit grid on south, extended TC zone,
Gecko - additional entrances to the abandoned reactor,
Broken Hills - reworked Residental area, extended TC zone,

- You can now play Russian Roulette via ~rr command. Needs a loaded magnum in active slot. Don't play it next to guards or they will loot your magnum :D
- Gambling capped at 150%,
- Companion spawn Modoc, Redding, Klamath, Gecko, Broken Hills and San Francisco,
- Removed starter items from companions,
- 12 level required to recruit companions,
- Range of Improved Flamer increased from 8 to 10 hexes,
- Deathclaws in warehouse were boosted (skill% and damage).

- An exploit with caravan having more than ten members hopefully fixed.
- Caravans shouldn't fall into Turn-based encounters anymore.
- Caravan guards will use Combat Shotgun instead of Flamer in order to decrease friendly fire.
- Car prices should be static now.
- New faction names added.
- Increased range of Pulse Rifle from 45 to 48.
- Increased range of Gauss Rifle from 50 to 53 and maximum damage from 40 to 45.
- Decreased AP cost of "Little Jesus" by 1 AP and increased damage from 5-14 to 14-21.
- Changed DR Mod of 40mm Grenades from 0 to -15.
- Increased base price of Hypo to 1500.
- Added 2x Broc Flower to RadAway recipe.
- Added a missing hexblocker in Maltese Falcon.
- Removed permanent +5 ST bonus from an unlisted quest.

Added footlockers to New Reno Arms and Warehouse basements (moved upstairs to prevent extreme camping).
- Every 10-50 minutes (randomly), each footlocker will delete what's inside and respawn new items:

- New Reno Commercial Row, New Reno Arms basement, Warehouse and it's basement are now NoLogOut maps (characters stay in "off" state inside);
- Few minor changes to New Reno Arms,
- Added more aggresive deathclaws to Warehouse,
- Added East/West entrance options to Warehouse.


Notes:
As you can see, some necessary bugfixes are included. Rare weapons were improved to make them more effective in battles (especially Gauss Rifle vs Pistol). 40mm Grenades were improved in order to make them more interesting for organised PvP. There was +5 ST bonus from some unlisted "quest" in Stables, NPC is long gone since it was reported (a month or two ago), now it's fixed.
New spawners were added in order to encourage some small and medium scale PvP in New Reno and Warehouse and to increase availability of rare items, which were accessible only through TC and Special Encounters. Most notably: implant modules. With average of 30 min spawn and 2% chance, there should be roughly one implant module spawned by each footlocker per day. However, you never know when it happens. Remember that footlockers are cleared with each respawn so if nobody picks these items, they will be simply lost.

Of course it's not over as my todolist is big and you can expect another update very soon  ;)

A tiny update, nothing special this time:
- VTDB enabled and links updated. Check character screen -> Online. More info soon. An example (click):




Now you can share your epic 666th level characters :P

- When flare is used inside an encounter, it will make this encounter visible to all players on worldmap. Beware of obvious traps!
- Gathering Electronic Parts should be fine now.
- Hub is the default starting location for all new characters.
- It will be raining in few locations for testing purposes. If it doesn't cause problems like massive FPS drop, it will be more common and dynamic, later in other locations.
- Mantis (ghoul giving Explorer perk) does no longer require INT higher than 3 to talk.
- A lot of new faction names added.
- Some typos and descriptions fixed.

Snow mod (by Skejwen)
Changes rain into snow. To use it, unpack contents of .zip below into Client/data/art/misc directory (create if necessary).

Public FOnline: Reloaded Teamspeak3 Server

In order to support our humble community, I've acquired a non-profit license for Teamspeak Server, which allows us to host 10 virtual teamspeak3 servers with up to 512 clients at no cost.
One public server and additional private servers for factions will be hosted.

Public server
You can use our public TS server to communicate with your buddies or other players when you're playing FOnline... or if you just want to chit-chat, it's up to you.
It's hosted on our fast server with 100 Mbit dl/ul connection so it will easily handle many players.

First, some rules:
1. Our TS server can be used by people who play FOnline: Reloaded.
2. No spamming, insulting and other disturbing activity is allowed.
People breaking the rules will be ofc kicked/banned from the server by TS administrator.
If you need a password-protected channel, just contact TS administrator.

How to use it:
1. Download TS3 client from here: http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads
2. Install it.
3. Run it from start menu, choose: Connections -> Connect
4. Type "play.fonline-reloaded.net" into Server Address field and also provide your nickname:



5. Click Connect.

Remember to use Settings -> Setup Wizard to set up your microphone and other settings.
Using "Push-to-talk" setting is recommended, really.
Note: we will never ask you about your usernames, passwords and other such stuff on Teamspeak. If someone does, report it.
That's all, have fun!



Private servers

Factions that are involved in organised PvP activities will still need private servers for obvious reasons. This is where additional private servers come into play.
If your faction needs a private TS server, you can send me a request via forum PM. What's required:

1. Faction must be active on FOnline: Reloaded.
2. Faction must be involved in Town Control activities.
If your faction doesn't meet these requirements, you should use our public server instead.

Request should include:
- name and short description of the faction,
- number of slots required,
- a reason why do you need TS server (short).

After you send the private message with your request, you have to wait some time (max. few days) for me to accept or reject it.

Additional notes:
- after I make a virtual server for you and make you an admin there, you are on your own. I provide no additional support,
- nothing is guaranteed, however your private server should be online always when FOnline: Reloaded game server is,
- private servers are completely free to use, of course.

If you've been paying for TS3 hosting for your faction previously, then you should basically love this idea.

Just try to make your suggestions not-so-out-of-place. Best ones will be added to the game.

- Added a new vehicle - Chryslus Motors Corvega - 3d model made and rendered by Prowokator. Available at Gas Station for mere 200.000 caps,
- Grenade Launcher, Grenade Pistol and 40mm Grenade added to Fixboy (requires SG(1) and SG(2) profession) and Small Guns traders,
- Decreased time of Caravan leaders waiting in town,
- Caravan should take players even with combat timer on,
- Profit from bank interest limited to 5.000 bottle caps every time it is calculated,
- Guards in encounters will not shoot players that are too close, but they will push them away instead,
- Added fiber plants in Hub,
- Lit flares are stackable now,
- Hunting Rifles use .223 ammo now,
- .22 ammo removed,
- Companions can be told to use Bridgekeeper's Robes,
- Removed additional replication timer after Dynamite/C4 explode inside inventory,
- Added new faction names.
- Fixed a bug which caused all Locks to be used when installing it on a car,
- Fixed a bug where making a construction site would remove Vertibird,
- Dialogue and map fixes.

My comment on these changes:
Adding stuff - for more variety, as always.
Some improvements of caravans, more coming.
Profit from interest limited for those who have more than 1M on their accounts. I know it doesn't solve the problem completely, but maybe it's a step forward.
Guards not shooting everyone standing next to them should fix problems with spawning in encounters.
Additional replication timer for bombers/victims only encouraged usage of more alts and caused more trolling so it wasn't needed.

My to-do list is larger but some things took more time than expected. There are many changes coming soon.. mostly new stuff and possibilities.
