You can also craft ext. magazine, ext. capactior battery, speed loader or scope on weapon and then science them for great experience.
For expample ext. magazine (1 junk) with deagle :
1. craft few deagles (only once)
2. get some junk and craft alot ext. magazine
3. craft deagle with ext. magazine
4. science it (not deagle, just deagle with magazine)
repeat sice 2.

1 deagle with extended magazine is 180 xp + 36 xp for science + 30 xp for crafting magazine
1 extended magazine = 1 junk = 246 xp
1000x junk = 246,000 xp

About those ghouls-what lv and eq are safe enough to exp on them?

Lvl idk it depends on build, 24 level is no prob in few hours max.
Gear..
-for vs encounters (when they focus other monsters, not you) i think lvl 1 is engouh, you dont need even armor and some basic weapon (i was doing them fine with flamer and without armor)
-for ghoul only encouter .. i believe you need 20+ lvl, metal/combat armor and some effective weapon (grease gun is fine, easy to craft both weapon and ammo, hex them one by one), if they are scavengers then focus one with molotov cocktail
it all also depends on your build.. they are doing alot aimed attacks so high EN is recommended to be not knocked down so often, i died there alot times even with CA because i got just 6 EN and was perma knocked
also if you want to push your xp hard then craft tons of 5mm ammo and rush them with avenger

For SG, easiest weapons to kill some enemy is to use burst weapons, like grease and 10mm smg.
BG has weapon for farming, Flamer. Be just sure you use Fuel MKII.
EW use Laser Pistol, Magneto if you want even more power. Both of them easy to get.

Yeah, ghouls can be killed with those guns pretty easily and without lvl 20+

And it's not about HP, I was able to kill ghouls until I was lvl 24. I didn't die even once with 70-86HP

Sometimes there are two with molotov, sometimes just 2x 10mm pistols, it depends. And it is possible in tb, i was talking about rt.
I told nothing about HP.

Here is much more effective stuf:
1) SG = XL, P90 (use very easy-obtainable jhp ammo, wich is great on ghouls)
2) BG = avenger, no other options
3) EW = gatling , no other options
Yeah, You can use "laser pistols" , "flamers" and stuff like that, but man, it's for masoсhists.

Actually flamer mk2 with ammo mk2 is much more effective than avenger

With laser pistol just two shots to eyes and game over to one ghoul. And flamer is for masskilling.
