How do my group and I avoid PVP?

Hi,

Started last night. I was reading through the wiki that PVP is rampant. Especially against newer players. My buddies and I also had our entire inventories stolen in The Hub without any way to do anything about it. We just want to do some PVE and fight baddies in the wastes.

In encounters, try to stay away from areas that are direct routes between popular areas. For instance Boneyard is dangerous. Also try to spend as little time in encounters as possible, the longer you're in there the more likely you are to be encountered by another player.

In unguarded towns, drop everything at a tent and scout it real quick before you bring anything valuable in (for trading, etc).

To prevent stealing, just don't let other players touch you. Keep away from them, and move as quickly as possible if needed. Keep caps or other things in hand slots. If you're trading, use the esc key to exit the window if someone else comes in, it's faster.

All that being said, you won't be able to avoid PvP completely, so if attacked fight back.

This is a competitive PvP game. You can't avoid it and aren't supposed to. You either join one of the bigger factions and learn to fight from them, put in a bunch of effort and get good, or you will keep dying and quit.

I know a couple of the bombers and thieves got banned. Ahahah.

Anyway yeah, what everyone else said. Don't let anyone get close to you in any town, don't stay in an encounter too long (Also, do encounters in realtime. You can't run away as well if you're in tb, plus it takes more time.) For the most part you have no real reason to go to unguarded towns early on. If you do go to them, set up a tent, leave your stuff there and walk to the unguarded towns bluesuit. That way if you die you don't lose anything. Lastly, sometimes you can ask people to go kill your pker if you give them a name and location (People in my faction do this for noobs) just for sweet revenge. So if you do get pk'd in an encounter, mark down their names if you can.
Avoid reno entirely. Aside from a couple support perks, there's nothing of interest there besides the footlocker. It's a heavy pvp location. Warehouse is also fairly heavy on pvp.
