FO2238Config problem? only me?

anyways. back when i played FOnline 2238. the config let you port over the music and some master file from your FO2 game to use if you wanted music or a base game.

then i get FOnline Reloaded, i double click "FO2238Config" then it crashes. so  i said "oh well", then got onto the "FOConfig" and used that. but the game seams a bit too mellow or... dead without some BGM or some of that original feal to it...

am i the only one thats having issues with FO2238Config?

the FO2238Config CAME WITH the full download of the FOnline Reloaded zip. soo is there anything that could help solve this issue of mine if im the only one having it?

i have no idea where but here as to post this topic. for no one will help me in chat (no one is talking) and there is no "General Discussion" thread.

no. it just right on start up. i have run it in both normal and Admin modes.

Did you download Full or Compact Client?

Compact client requires master.dat and critter.dat from Fallout 2
Full client doesn't need those files.

Looks like there is no master.dat in the screenshot, I'm guessing that would be the problem.

alright. i opened up fallout 2, made a new folder, full installed it into it. then copied and pasted both the MASTER.DAT and the CRITTER.DAT and still wont work

Compatibility mode is a setting which allows you to run programs in an environment they were developed for. In other words, he doesn't mean that you may be running win98, but that you can set up FOnline to run under such settings through properties.

running FO2238Config in win98 comp mode didnt do anything nether. still crashes after clicking on it.

i dont get a weindow at all. first thing that comes up is "FO2238config has stopped working"

I really don't know why people suggest to use win98 mode with FOnline, it really doesn't work with it.

Usually crashes mean you are missing some component that is needed to run some program.

Check that you have next components installed on your computer

- DirectX 9.0c (if you don't have, check my guide for web installer)
- .NET Framework (did you tried it already?)

This could cause problem with games/programs too.
