A little sumup of the current sniper state in the game, done cause I was trying to make a viable EW sniper build.
1) 1STR, Sniper Rifle, Max Range, Sharpshooter perk, 10AGI and CA armor Target, NOT counting the obstacles:
+ 300% weapon skill
+128% long range perk
-200% distance (50 squares, 4% per square)
-80% for missing STR (having 1, required 5)
-30% (10 agi AC)
-25% (CA AC)
-60% aimed shot to the eyes
+8% sharpshooter perk
+20% .223 FMJ ammo
61% hit chance.....NOT counting the obstacles and the perks that will lower this even further like Livewire, bringing you down to 41% hit chance at max range.
3 STR required to work
2) Laser Rifle/Pulse Rifle
1STR, Sniper Rifle, Max Range, Sharpshooter perk, 10AGI and CA armor Target, NOT counting the obstacles:
+ 300% weapon skill
+128% long range perk
-188%/-192% distance (47/ squares, 4% per square)
-100% for missing STR (having 1, required 6)
-30% (10 agi AC)
-25% (CA AC)
-60% aimed shot to the eyes
+8% sharpshooter perk
+0% SEC/MFC ammo
33% hit chance for laser rifle, 29% chance for pulse rifle.....NOT counting the obstacles and the perks that will lower this even further like Livewire, bringing you down to 13% hit chance at max range.
Laser Rifle 4 STR required to work, just barely though (93% hit chance out of max 95%, again NOT counting obstacles)?
Pulse Rifle 4 or 5 STR required to work.
3) Gauss Pistol - this one will be really sad.
1STR, Gauss Pistol, Max Range, Sharpshooter perk, 10AGI and CA armor Target, NOT counting the obstacles:
+ 300% weapon skill
+20% accurate perk
-200% distance (50 squares, 4% per square)
-60% for missing STR (having 1, required 6)
-30% (10 agi AC)
-25% (CA AC)
-60% aimed shot to the eyes
+8% sharpshooter perk
+30% SEC/MFC ammo
+20% One handed trait (aka bye all rifles)
-13% chance to hit at max range (yes, that is MINUS 13%).
This means, that a Gauss Pistol sniper needs to have 6 STR to hit 87% hit chance.......7 STR for a stable pistol build?
So why the sudden sniper hate?
For those less informed:
1) AC changes - now AC us applied even when standing still,
2) Sharpshooter change - the perk now requires 3 Int
3) No small frame
Other issues:
1) SEC having zero AC modifiers,
In the end, the Gauss Pistol now appears to be useless, Laser Rifle and Pulse Rifle do not look viable at all.
If you see any mistakes or have any suggestions, please let me know.
