QUEST - BoS: Investigate the red object

Hey
Need help with that quest.
It's the one after collecting 10 scorpions tails.
I took it in NCR BOS base.

When i first talk to Chris (Navvaro base) i haven't got 500 caps, after secont talk he attacked me.
Chris respawned but there's no chat option to enter base.

So how to get in ? (i have -2000 reputation with Enclave)
Where's that red object?
Anyone completed this quest and can give me a hint ?

So when you are talking to Chris, what red object is there nearby?

seems i am blind or something
can't find any suspicious red object there.

any direct advice ?

Its not in the base.

add: also i have in pip-boy "current progress: error" after selecting this quest

The red object is not suspicious to you or to me. It is suspicious only to the NPCs who sent you on this quest. So look for any red object there, in Chris' area. I can tell you if you give up but I don't want to totally spoil it.

Ok, so some1 told me exactly what is that red object.
Tried everything on it and nothing happens. Walked near it and nothing happens, etc, etc.
Still have "quest progress: error" in pip-boy. BoS npcs tell me 'i have no work for you right now'
Bug ? How can i solve this ?

Did you try talking to the BoS guys at San Fran? Or somewhere else? Not sure man. Mine worked last year but I only did this a few times. If I remember right, all I had to do was click the red object (if even that?) and I got some text about reporting back to BoS but I won't bet on it.

If nobody else helps you before I join BoS and try it myself, I will tell you what I find but I bet someone else will help you before I get that chance.

Questgivers npcs in NCR and LA tells me "have no work for you right now, come back later"
BoS scribe in LA base even attacked me after i talked to him. (+200 bos reputation)
Quest seems to be broken/frozen, like i wrote before  pip-boy says "quest progress: error"

As i asked other ppl - they have done this quest without problem.

If you fight Chris, or argue with him or some crap, it'll break the quest. I'm not sure how to fix it. More than likely you'll have to do it on a new character. I don't think you should really bother, though, as BoS is currently broken and entering the faction will only give you access to their bunkers, which contains nothing useful as the Faction Point system (at least from what I've seen) hasn't been fully implemented yet.

I confirm the quest breaks after you fight with Chris, the red object is the nuka cola machine, but it doesn't matter after the quest gets bugged. No workaround for the time being, move on.

Is there any option to delete this quest ? start quest for BOS from begining or something else ?
