Does it work with knives as well?
Sadly, not.

After reading all this I think melee might really not be the right thing for a beginner like me.

I think I'll go for a tank with small guns and close combat as backup instead.

1) LK=1 is bad idea -> you will rerely cause a critical
2) AC is needed when you want to run to your opponent and then hit him (not sure how and if it's working).
3) 180 CC is in my felling not enough because you will miss sometimes (and sitll don't know if 200 will do better)
4) In Your Face is working but don't expect every second opponent attack to be missed (it's not the way probability works it seems ;)
5) Bruiser is good because adds ST and Melle Dmg but -2AP hurts (trust me)

Anyway if you want to be able to put down tank built then you need to cause a good ciritical because it's impossible to kill 250HP guy using powerfist with two punches! An if he sees you he will kill you with 2 bursts because you won't have good dmg res. So you need to have either good snake skill or huge AC. Then you attack guy punching him in the arms, crippling arm and taking him out of the game. I made a HtH build but now I would go for critical HtH and you have to check the combination of LK=10 and Heavy Handed.

Crappy build, 1LK is a fucking bad idea. Put 6 lk min , and 6 INT max.

Why 6 Luck? What's the difference between 5 Luck and 6'
