Title: Open Battleground Location?

How would people feel about having a new location on the worldmap that would solely be used as a location to PvP whoever is there? I'm not seriously planning anything, but I've been thinking about something SIMILAR. Kind of like a Hinkley location, or a hardcoded distress location.

Just a public battleground, no rules, nothing. Meeting point for all you suicide jockeys. Could contain a few mobs and random loot. But as a whole, it's just a place to visit and kill/die.

Thoughts? Flames? Lol. The worldmap has a ton of space for random locations. Just like Fallout 3+ with their low-tier points of interest on the map.

This already exists though. Or do you mean a place with no penalties for dying?

Penalties for death sure, but more locations for combat. Imagine if there were 6 or so locations sprawled across the map that you can explore, maybe gather some stuff and ambush/get ambushed by players.

Make some maps that can be used for this and we might just get them in :)



More locations are always better.

This is exactly how I feel. It's a big damn map, we need more random locations. It takes away from private location spots and can cause conflicts when spawning random locations, but it's cool to go out and discover new locations just for the sake of exploring. You could get some xp just for finding a few abandoned spots. But it's really up to DocAN and Kilgore in the end.

reno was a popular pvp place on 2238 and had nothing interesting there. in current session before magic locker update noone went there ever, even if spammed radio for pvp. point is, empty locations have no intrrest in pvp. making more dungeons in currently unused maps wouldbe better idea but then the game would quickly turn into fo2.

but anyway hinkley shoulr be removed or rebalanced with restricted access

More PVP areas are welcome, especially areas that have something to offer.

I don't actually play TB these days but wouldn't a TB area be different? It would certainly be a change and a added option for those that enjoy that mode.

Either way I like the idea +1.

I prefer open dungeons (like Glow, Ares) and private dungeons (quests for PvE player/players). Empty maps would be useless even their great design (PvPers press no wall/roof button and would not enjoy look of map).

More PvP RT oriented dungeons but remember about PvE players in RT/TB aswell. More dungeons !


Btw. Back to subject, one or two PvP maps with loot would be great. Maybe Reno would be more alive...

The Cuck Shed. If you die three times in a row you don't end up in respawn but get teleported there with a Mauser. You can reuse the Ranger Cabin map for that.

That way everyone has another location to beg for a magic locker about.

What you're proposing sounds basically like Reno used to be.

I'm not against new locations, but if they don't have a specific purpose or reward other than PvP, it doesn't seem like many care about it anymore.

An attractive idea would be a map that changes, reshapes layout every so often like the barrels map in hinkly

Yes this map is great however it should be redesigned somewhere because of custom scenery which Reloaded does not use. If you ask me there is many interesting elements in Desert Europe which would be used. I like concept of turn based location for PvP, control flags (domination wars) and fancy looking arts. And about that map, it does not has to be public location or something like that, it could be used for events and tournaments.

Thanks for the replies. Problem with TB combat maps is the combat timer, it takes 5-10 minutes sometimes just to get your turn. But uh, all combat quests/jobs/etc have the option to be done in RT or TB. That's not hard to implement at all. A lot of the stuff you guys talked about I thought of already months ago btw :P

How would you guys feel if we just added more magic lockers in new locations? Maybe 3-6 new Magic Locker mini-towns? I wonder if that would break the balance?

You know, I'd love to see some public PvP locations that are level specific. Thoughts? X combat area is only accessible for people under level 12. Some for characters 12-24. Some for characters other 30+. That would give players more ways to fight their equals.

3-6 minitown lockers is not a good idea because it spreads out where pvp might be, you need scouts over all of those locations to see if enemies there or without a scout you'll enter empty locations and soon get bored and then stop looking for pvp.

Level specific pvp locations are pointless because pvp only starts after lvl 24

A interesting concept would be a NPC that could spawn you to certain areas and that you could pay prize money in a pot and when you are in the map and enough player are found "1v1" you are going to be placed in the Arena of your choice a other player has chosen aswell, from there on you are in a *spawn cabin* so you cannot be spawnkilled instantly having a few random cabins around so you have diverse Spawnpoints every time, and after the fight you can take the equip of your killed opponents and leave the area + the price money that has been bet.

This could be a approach for a more organized and PVP-friendly playstyle if you want to duel with etiqutte.

Also there could be a Boss NPC in the middle of the map to add danger along with the Players.

Also there could be brocflower and xanderroot spawns so you can have a small first aid around the map to draw out battles.

The winner will be able to pick a type of ammo and a type of medication as reward and like caps (like 1000 caps also not that much ammo like 200 shots and 2 meds like stimpaks, buffout or jet)

could make it interesting to maintain fighting longer if you have honourable people who actually give you your equipment back, otherwise you have a risk to lose and gain stuff.
