Title: Preventing team camping on the down basement of New Reno Arms
Post by: NaerK on January 06, 2014, 02:59:08 am
To prevent players to camp inside down basements of New Reno Arms with full teams, which are nearly impossible to assault successfully due to zone loading + unique spawn, lets say that Elridge build a device to kill rats.

Indeed, I suggest to add a switch in the Elridge shop level.

When the switch is activated on surface level, a cooldown of 10 minutes is started. Players who camp the down basement are warned that they have 10 minutes to leave the zone, otherwise, all players in the basement are killed due to gas release.

To bypass this 10-mn fatality, all players have to leave the down basement or to switch down the device on the surface, to interrupt the cooldown.

Same thing for Warehouse (or increase Deathclaws respawn on the down level of the Warehouse).

I would transfer new reno lockers from nra to new reno severs.

From warehouse to necropolis

Exactly, to prevent that they should stay upstairs, if they stay upstairs other team can attack from more then 1 side and no grid camping.

Yes. With this trick, footlockers campers have to know that they only have to expect to die to camp downstairs. They still have a chance to be successful in assaulting the surface, though.

I like this idea better.

The reno locker should be placed in the room surrounded by the valve-doors and mantis. Those mantis should be replaced by more difficult npcs, like yakuza, deathclaws or centaurs/floaters.

What about:

- reworking basements to be larger,
- adding second and third stairs to each,
- adding deathclaws to New Reno Arms basement.

I think it should solve camping pretty much, and if it's still a problem, then I can make a switch upstairs that kills everything underground so you would have to control it to be safe or not to camp underground. I doubt that cooldown is really needed there.

The second solution is just moving footlockers upstairs. I'll see what to do.

making it larger and adding more spawns/stairs to enter is really good idea to prevent from camping one stairs and killing everyone during loading time
and some NPCs would be nice but imo there should be rather some Yakuza then deathclaws

More stairs are always good but i would put one more Enter. Basent-sewers

And i would rework this empty south city (next to gun runners) to hostile area with 2-3 gates and super mutants as citizens or even better place Ghost town with npc and lockers

Looks like the problem is fixed.
