Title: Combat Difficulty Staircase
Post by: Henry on December 20, 2014, 03:08:12 am
Attention All Newer Players

You want to get tougher, right? You know you need to get more skilled in combat, so here is a list of challenges you should handle. Each player starts this skill journey at a different place. Some guys have trouble beating the Black Claw scorpions, but everyone should press on! Start where you want, and keep at it until you can solo it with authority. Then step up to the next one. Think of this as self-imposed training. When you're ready to begin, solo these in Real-Time (http://www.fonline-reloaded.net/wiki/Real-Time) mode (listed here in suggested order of difficulty):

You're doing very well once you beat the GR mutie cave quest, but you're not done yet! Expect a tough time at Ares. And everyone dies solo'ing Warehouse a lot - just keep trying. You'll get it. If anyone can do it, then so can you!

For tougher challenges, bring your better gear, crafted with bonus stats including -1AP requirement. Remember, this list is all PvE. The real challenge is PvP, but climbing this PvE staircase might help get you there.

A good and EASY way;
Do the dog quest in real time with spiked knuckles (let them surround you, Hell, let them kill you, just DONT MOVE). Get the directions to the scavenger's camp. Collect up 6 junk, get the 200¤, get two train tickets, go up to Hell, do the ant quest in real time (same deal). Collect up even 8 junk. Go back to LA, sell off that junk, buy 2 more train tickets, repeat.
EDIT; You shouldnt do this forever, but for a few levels, until you can take on bigger game.

for completion:
vault 15 slags
farming ncr army for CA mk2 in rt
farming enclave patrols for gatlings

in pve (pvp to) critchance min max stats are more useful than -ap. so if a gun dont have -ap.. dont throw it away ;)
edit: at least +4 critchance and one more good stat (no accuracy) to offset the -ap

good list. i never did the mutie quest till now..^^

You should put Vault 15 into the list before WH. It has 5ish skags in it, one is a minigun skag.

It's for leveling. If I say any more that that, I will get a ban.
So dont ever speak to me again.

you can downrate special encounter with implants. it is easier than ares and the slags imo
€: ares is a bit harder now since more muties have AP ammo for their miniguns. but inside it is still same difficulty..
€: just soloed gun runners but forgot to record :X

good list, very useful for players looking for PvE progress but some things can be easier / harder then others depending on build
also good thing to remind is that all current content is soloable (with decent build ofc)

btw you are missing bounty hunters, alot of players dont even know about them
i never tried them farming in RT but in TB i was able to get something like ~200 superstims/hr and alot of xp and stuff
they are similar to NCR Army, they have CA instead of CAmk2, stonger weapons but they carry super stimpaks which makes them worth to farm
best zone to look for them is 10:26
also good guide from leonardo about bounty huntershttp://forum.fonline-reloaded.net/index.php?topic=4633.msg32902#msg32902 (http://forum.fonline-reloaded.net/index.php?topic=4633.msg32902#msg32902)

Good one list.
It's going to save too much time for newcomers or who wasn't been there yet. They're not forced to spend 10 years to read wiki to gather all info and ect.
Thank you.

A little late, but there are people in the reno sewers to fight as well. Not sure where they fit on the list.

Why is Vault 15 on top of the staircase? I solo'd it with a quality combat shotgun and combat armor without getting hit once, yet I'm a real noob and my char isn't even PVP - when I did it I had only 190 hp or so.

I don't know why V15 is listed so highly. It's a mistake imo. However, this list now needs some re-ordering since the wipe, so...

...please post your suggested order and add the Reno Sewers. I'll adjust the lead post accordingly to maintain some value to this list.

I'd say put glow harder than mercenaries and v15 less hard than glow but harder than mercenaries. V15 used to be harder last session because they had pretty much the same slags as wh but now they have been made incredibly weak. Also Ares has been made much harder. IMO Ares outside should be right next to Ares inside and put them past wh as the hardest 2. I've only done reno sewers a few times but make it as harder than gun runner mutant quest I think.

valut 15 npcs was nerfed since that list was made

Bumping this for new players.

I think i should add Toxic Caves to it. Does anyone have some more PvE challenges that could be added here?

I think there are also some electronic parts if you use science on the broken computers? Not 100% about that though.

Bring back Vault 13 lol.

i remember that used to be a secret place where you could trade (before towns where none- pvp zones town bursts).
and an area of mass slaughter.

Hey lets go farming unity, and take a detour to Vault 13 where your friends where waiting to gun them down lol

It had no other purpose lol
