I thought, "Cool! Fallout online. I'll try it out." I created my character. I did a mission. Got my money. Then got robbed for everything I had. Then I looked at at he forums and read, "Oh yeah, that happens. Oh well, start again." WTF!? I realize it's the wasteland, but that is just fucked up. All the people, who have been playing this for a while, do is sit around and wait for noobs to come along so that they can rape them. How is that fun? This has got to be the stupidest fucking MMO I have ever come across. Their is no social interaction. No, "Hey welcome to the game.", just a whole lot of, "Fuck you! Go home asshole!" I thought RDR Online was fucked up; this game definitely tops that game.
I too realized just how shit this MMO was, and why it has so few players (for now). Think about the HUUUUUGE cult following that the classic Fallout has. Then look at the player stats, 80 players as of this moment. Simply because the community is shit and no one wants to be constantly stressed out and have to grind endlessly to STILL get owned by the trolls, which make up literally 60 out of the 80 people playing. There are rare gems like Help Bot, but the majority are toxic garbage. People in game and on the forums will all say they like the game, so it will look like you are one in a very few, but the truth is that everyone that agrees with you has already quit entirely and isn't here to back you up. They will tell you that you need to learn the game and check the wiki, but that isn't the problem, the problem is the attitude of players, the kill on sight and talk shit type of attitude, the go out of my way to troll new players attitude, the answer their questions with "your mom" attitude. Nothing you learn in the wiki will save you from that, and that is why so many people quit. For once I'd love to get killed and have a player go over my corpse and say "No hard feeling, you looked like a spy and we can't take the risk" instead, they go over my corpse and say "get rekt scrub" while jizzing on their hand and using it as acne cream.
The PVP'ers that play this are no better than the sociopaths that KOS in survival games and do nothing but destroy the game they invested so much time into. What's the point of having 10 copies of the best gear in the game when the only time you use them is against the same groups of people over and over again. There is no reasoning with them though, they just want to see you die, get mad, and quit like the rest. And due to their psychological issues, they actually get satisfaction and jizz their pants over that. It's one thing to be a PVP troll, and it's another to PVP with class and intelligence. Unfortunately I have met literally ZERO players with any social integrity.
The best interactions and most fun I've had in a full loot PVP game is when people cautiously approach eachother, talk for a bit and feel eachother out then become friends or something fun/funny comes out of the entire thing. Instead it boils down to "stay in aimed mode by a window and shoot the first red outline you see" type of twitch "PVP". What a joke. Take an example I had in H1Z1 yesterday, I was in two groups, the first group of bandits I met, they killed us all instantly, they got nothing out of it, we were ticked off and our group was incontent while theirs just wasted their ammo and kept going. The second group of bandits that we met, took us hostage, talked to us, forced us to fight zombies barefisted, then let us go and it was the most memorable and fun half hour I've had. Nothing like that exists here, every fucking douche is like the first group of bandits and I give up. I've quit playing until the wipe, now that I have learned what and in which order to do things in and where to go and not to go at the current level, then perhaps it will be bearable and MAYBE even fun, but until then I'll pass.
