Well it depends on what you want to make, use mapper if you want to make maps, but there are plenty of tools. Best place to get a little in depth is Fodev.

Also no, you don't need internet

The two files you downloaded were most likely the mapper and/or the session 2 source code. There is a thread on the forum detailing how to set up the mapper properly for you to use:

http://forum.fonline-reloaded.net/index.php?topic=10032.0

After you have properly set up the mapper, here are a couple guides to assist you in creating your first map:

Commands and Tips by Urukhai: http://forum.fonline-reloaded.net/index.php?topic=10947.0

Slowhand's Tutorial: http://forum.fonline-reloaded.net/index.php?topic=9735.0

My Standard Encounter Map Tutorial: http://forum.fonline-reloaded.net/index.php?topic=10924.0

Both Uruk and I have included images to assist in your learning of the mapper. I hope to see you aspire and create amazing content!

How to run server on your computer.

1. Download server/tools files and client. Btw the client is the same as you use to play Reloaded so its not even necessery to download additional one. All from this http://forum.fonline-reloaded.net/index.php?topic=9569.0

2. Server archive contains all files necessery to run server. Just run FOnlineServer.exe. When you see in the server window something like: *Starting game loop* then you can now connect to your server.

3. Go to client, run FOConfig.exe, then network tab. Change ip address to localhost, and port to 2238. Then run normal game. If you make everything right you will see normal login screen. Create a character and play :)

Remember to read linked tutorials about GM options - if you want to spawn items etc http://fodev.net/forum/index.php/topic,29382.0.html

Start learning c++ for a couple of years and comeback again when you have questions.

I suggest you start from mapping and then move on other dev things but first think what about you want to ask us and write proper and detailed questions

Good luck ;)

Hi, this is what you are looking for: http://forum.fonline-reloaded.net/index.php?topic=9735.0

It's a step by step tutorial to start out, if you fail, ask specific questions. Also, it takes time, a lot of time to get used to stuff. Keep trying.
