Our website and forum are kept on separate hosting.
In total, these services cost us about 25 euros per month.
I paid for the first month and also for some other things like www/forum hosting (which is different than server machine so in case of failure I can post here info of what happened etc.), domain, test server machine costs... it took some money but I don't expect you to pay for it - I could cover it.
I would be happy if people that play and like the game donated some, so we can keep current server running without problems.

First month (September) was on me, the second has been already paid for. With about 190 euros gathered from donations, there are funds to keep the server running till the end of the year, and not much is required to keep it running in January.
I think that it's clear for all players that the server will be running as long as it is funded from donations.
Character rerolls are possible only for donators, they can also have their Highwayman changed to Rusty Highwayman.

Yes and donations have allowed the server to be fully funded until Jan next year or even further. Time to hault it and work on other stuff for the time being. Not gonna even try and decipher the last part of your comment because it makes zero sense and you come off as an ass-licker.

Also, think about what you want to achieve and by what means: rules on the second instance of the server etc.
Server machine is currently far from being overloaded and it could easily host at least several other FOnline servers. To be honest, I would even share the machine with other development teams and their projects (to reduce expenses), but in this community, even developers are hostile to each other..

Just a few thoughts and undeveloped concepts and ideas about an RP server:
- player driven or player influenced lore factions (BoS, Caravans, NCR, Powder Gangers etc.) with incorporatable player factions as branches (or allyable, maybe it would be easier). By this it would be possible to create goals for factions in a role friendly way, like BoS seeking technological artifacts, and to create missions based on this concept.
- Different start possibilities to better suit someones character profile (minor immersion thing)
- Dont know if there is a tool for creating or pseudo-creating missions, but it might be a good idea to increase the number and diversity of them (lore friendly way, mentioned above).
- faction goals and high rewards for them, so the cooperation of players wouldnt only be about taking a town or pillaging some area.
- if possible: the tweaking of economy, so the flow of materials would make sense and could become a player action as well (im talking merchant)
- Increase in some resources, like drinking water: in Fo1, the player had to turn the whole wasteland upside down because of a water chip, yet water is now very accessible to players (without real benefits, at least i dont know about any), and pretty much not a concern for the NPCs.
- long events about factions, like NCR gearing up for a minor conflict -> more they pay for weapons and armor and possibly mercenaries, then the conflict with "battle events", "scouting events".
About keeping newcomers in the game:
With the possibly player or GM driven (or influenced) lore factions it could be easier to help out noobs in an RP fashion, like NCR conscript, a gecko hunter, a wandering doctor, etc. and to give a more coordinated, cooperative taste to the beginning of the game isntead of shoveling crap and such.
Non the less, the main factor that could drive such an RP server would be dedicated gamers (with the required free time of course). What do you guys think?

not one of my suggestions has been considered, but I just sent my monthly 6euro.
we do need the wipe because of implemented changes since 8/31/13 has caused conflicts in the programming.
squash one bug and create another.

too many times I wanted to just start from scratch due to the convoluted prior programming, but was not allowed to because of my customers fears.
since I charge by the hour, I did it their way and billed them more.
more frustrating to me but more money for me.
I would have rather had less frustration, less money at that job and moved on to the next job.
this is a free game and I hope that the folks who do the hard work are able to make up for the time they spent here, to their significant others, with a nice dinner, out of the server kitty.

Unfortunately, starting from 01.05.2015 (1st of May), we will be no longer making character rerolls. You will be able to reroll your character in next session or after a major update (if such happens (http://forum.fonline-reloaded.net/index.php?topic=7281.0)before actual wipe), simply using in-game feature. At the moment, we are out of time to do that anymore :(
Of course, all pending rerolls and these requested before 01.05 will be made.

Whetever I spend 50 bucks on alcohol in a pub to let it damage my cells, or 50 here, getting trolled/enjoying a good show while regenerating from the gym, with the only backthrow of my time being consumed, whats it matter.
I hope some more people will consider donating, even if its 10 bucks, as long as it doesn't hurt you.
I think it's somewhat part of a good tone, especially, if you, like me, left your garbadge behind on here, or in my case, more like burning bridges, crying mothers and ruined castles lol.
I don't say this because I'm arrogant and self righteous bast****, rather than because seeing 170€ donatations really suprised and upset me after having heard all the stories, of the hundreds and thousands the khans presumeably donated.
It would be pretty ass situation for them begging for donations, but as a player and (not so) long term member of the community, I would like to ask you to send in a few shekels, if 10 people send in 10-20 bucks, its probably already a good help, doesn't have to be a fortune, the mass does the trick.
And before someone even starts asuming something :P no, I wasn't asked to write this and no am not a staff member, just a fellow player like ya'll.
