Earn Wiki-Credits!

Want to help with wiki editing but don't want to log into wiki and do all those edits? Here is how you can help, the fun way:

As you go to various towns, you meet certain NPCs who have names. Take a few notes about each NPC as you meet them and PM that info to me. I can use it to update wiki, which has always lacked most of the NPC pages. I'm on a personal campaign to fix this. Here is what i need about each NPC:

* Their full name
* Hit Points
* Location (what town, in what area)
* Mouse-over description in chat bar
* Extended description when you use "binoculars" on them
* Will they Barter via the Barter window? Yes/No
* What do they buy and sell: N/A, specific item, Limited, or tons-o-stuff (these answers work best)
* Any relevant notes you can add about this NPC (Example: buys spears but only via dialogue.)
* Visual (avatar) (see 3rd post below for a match)

Do your best so i don't have to do all this running around myself. I will add their quests, training, perks, etc myself but please mention anything you think might get missed.

Duplicates
Check the next post below to avoid submitting NPC info that someone else has already submitted.
Check the wiki to see if your NPC is already there. Even if he/she is there, you get credit for providing missing info.

How to Earn Wiki Credits
For each NPC's worth of data you provide, that leads to the addition of a new wiki page that we did not already have*, or that allows us to update an existing NPC page that lacks the NPC template**, you will earn 5 Wiki Credits! Cover a whole town of NPCs and get 25 Bonus Wiki Credits!

Cash in your credits for cool items.

*Info must be complete enough that i don't have to go there myself and meet that NPC to get missing info.
**Template:NPC is not in use on all NPC pages, but working on it.

Account Legend
Processing: Info has been received, wiki is being edited, balance will be updated soon. Includes expected bonuses.
Duplicates: Number of NPCs already submitted by someone earlier.
Bonus: To-date total credits paid in bonuses. Number only goes up.
NPC Credits: Total credits processed, based on non-hostile NPC info. Number only goes up.
Vans: Info about Caravan Ecnounters. Number only goes up.
Redeemed: All credits traded in for special items. Number only goes up.
Balance: Credits earned but not redeemed yet. Fluctuates as you earn more and spend more.

Please be patient to see your balance updated. You guys are doing good work, so i now have more edits to make than time to make them, but i'm glad to get the help. In a few cases, i have replied to your PM with some questions for clarification.

Bonuses
Clarity Bonus: Get an extra 5 credits per NPC if you include the actual avatar image in your PM.
Hostility Bonus: Get an extra 5 credits per NPC if the NPC is hostile, like in a Caravan Encounter.
So it's possible to get 10 or even 15 credits per NPC, rather than the normal 5 credits. (See Awgy's account above.)
Correction Bonus: Get credit(s) for providing corrections to existing wiki info*.
Missing File Bonus: If you can provide a missing image file, for example, yeah get credits for sure.
Info must meet the requirements to qualify for bonuses: clear, complete, accurate, etc.

Anyway, good job! Thanks for the work so far - this is going well.

* There is a limit to this so don't expect to get Bridgekeeper Robes for every minor detail, but then again...if the wiki is wrong and you help make it right, then you can get something for it.

BUT THERE'S MORE!

The wiki is also lacking info about those fun Caravan Encounters (http://www.fonline-reloaded.net/wiki/index.php?title=Caravan_Encounters). So check that page, and you'll see which groups are not documented yet. You might also notice some inaccurate info on groups that are documented. I will fix all of this if people will get some details to me, and you'll earn some Wiki Credits for good info!

Details
I created a new wiki template, for NPC groups. It has places for 6 NPCs and an image for each one. See pages linked to Caravan Encounters (http://www.fonline-reloaded.net/wiki/index.php?title=Caravan_Encounters) for how it is being used. However, this assumes 6 slots is enough for fairly describing an NPC group like Master's Elite Crew (http://www.fonline-reloaded.net/wiki/index.php?title=Master%27s_Elite_Crew) for example. I believe the size of the NPC group scales up based on Caravan party size. That's okay. I think 6 slots is good enough, but if you disagree, say so and explain it.

New incentive!

The wiki lacks a Guide (https://www.fonline-reloaded.net/wiki/index.php?title=Guides) regarding how to edit the NameColorizing file.

I will issue an in-game item award to whomever can provide me with a good amount of data on this, written clearly enough so i can add it to wiki as a guide.

The item will be taken from the Wiki Awards Warehouse, so check above for item list. Your choice.

Info has to be clear, and complete. If 10 people jump on this, i'll say whoah - there's a limited amount of stuff to use as awards, but if 1 or 2 people do a fantastic job of it, you'll be compensated.

To participate: send PM to me on this forum. It will be a "first to impress me - first to get award" basis.

The Wiki Awards Program is currently offline and the Wiki Awards Warehouse is closed for now. We all have a lot to do exploring Season 3. However, you can anticipate this program to go live again at some point, so if you plan ahead and like to document things, take notes about stuff you find in-game - maybe you can get credit for it later.

Enjoy game! It's pretty awesome so far, huh?
